"We have decided to always go with Best Western after just concluding half of our trip. Facilities might be older sometimes, but we are fine with that if paint is fresh, furniture in good repair and everything is clean. Tried going for cheaper once and were wishing we had paid a little extra for a BW."

"The property is a little old, but the owner and his wife went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant stay which made all the difference in the world. They were super friendly offering complimentary upgrades and travel tips and directions. For a (70's era) value location, I think we received a pleasant stay. It was the perfect place to rest before going to Hearst Castle State Park. "

"Hotel staff was great and gave good recommendations on food but the room was bad. The air conditioner was so loud I could not sleep. The bathroom tiling was redone poorly and you could see where holes were patched in the walls all over the room. The door did not have anything but a old style chain to secure it over night. The bed was sitting on what looked like large squares of cardboard I do not know why. The TV and microwave were sitting on a very old desk and had a sheet under them for some reason. The final killer. The bed was not made right. Not even tucked in with wrinkly sheets. I had the feeling was not the first one in them. If this room is any indication of the rest of the hotel I suggest they do a total overhaul."
