Jaisalmer hotels & accommodations

I wish Jaisalmer had a direct flight, just so that I can visit Suraygarh again. Beautiful property with exceptional service. Specially the buffet and the serving staff. Property was full, still there was enough space and service was good. Seems like good service is build into the culture and everyone was really good. Staff brought out breakfast items that were not on ...

Considering it was our first visit to Jaisalmer, I didn't know what to expect. Initially while making the booking, I was a bit skeptical because the place seemed a little expensive. But this place surprised me. I think it was completely worth it. The tents were clean and nice and on reaching they welcomed us with music and welcome drinks. Camel safari was included in t...

Nice Hotel, Good and spacious rooms. Jaisalmer is relatively a small city so almost all points of interest are near by. Less than 1 km from main fort. Swimming pool is nice and big, food is also good. Nice open garden area for children. Our 4 year old child had a great time. Roof Top Restaurant is an added spice. All in all very good option.

The hotel is the best hotel I have been in India and probably ever!!! It might not be 5 stars but the staff there are FANTASTIC. Always caring for you and asking if we needed anything. The food was superb and Ali (staff) was excellent when serving us. Peter or Pedro is another member that served us very well. He had worked in the Dominican republic for 11 yrs so he spo...

"You are now in the palace, so stay like a prince", this is what the host told me when I check-in. And I do have a comfortable stay in Mandir Palace. Jaisalmer is a small city, so location is not a big concern. Although here is a palace, but everything is well renovated and maintained. Shower here is great, hot water running fast even late night. TV with lot of chan...

This place is like an oasis in the desert. This hotel is no doubt to be one of the best budget hotels in Jaisalmer. Ideally located, the hotel is just 5-10 min walk from the bus stand and the Jaisalmer Fort. Upon arrival, we were given a free upgrade - deluxe room with balcony. Quite impressed with that, we were in for a surprise when we entered the room. The room was...

If you're visiting jaisalmer then you should definitely consider hotel lalgarh fort and and palace. I stayed here for couple of days(12-13 Jan 2019 and i was pleasantly surprised. I cannot say enough good things about my stay at the Hotel Victoria. From the moment I arrived everyone went out of their way to help me with all my traveling needs. Sushil and the owner, Pankaj, were outstanding. Sushil made himself available at every hour of the day, and was completely professional and good hearted. Also, the hotel is an amazing hotel, right insid...

Had a great time at Hotel Rawal Kot Jaisalmer with family. This property will definitely surprise you with its grandeur and beauty. The staff is very courteous and friendly. Rooms are exquisite and well maintained. Food quality is good (can be better). Everything else is very pleasurable and comfortable. I recommend it any day to any one.

The tents were a good 10 kms away from the Sand Dunes but we were provided pickup & drop at no additional cost. There are other good options available close to the sand dunes. Staff was very courteous, helpful & friendly, they ensured that our stay was comfortable. Can improve on cleanliness of the tents and the facilities.

We had a great stay at Jaisalkot during our September visit to Jaisalmer. We got an upgrade which was really a surprise for us. The rooms were clean and the staff’s were really kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again in future if we plan to visit the city again.

Our stay at Mystic Jaisalmer Hotel was best possible. Staff at hotel are ultra friendly and nice there is always some nice things happening. They provide pick up and drop off at train or bus station so you are not wandering around or arranging transport on your own. Rooms are very comfortable with all necesitties you need. Bottled water free of charge so you shouldnt g...

I have only praises for this hotel. Staff, management. in particular Ali and his brother were polite, respectful & ever helpful. I wish other hotels in the state (we travelled in Rajasthan extensively) could learn lessons on customer service & looking after guests from the brothers. They took such good care of us and our elderly parents who were travelling with us. Ali...

Nachana Haveli is one of the best places to stay when in Jaisalmer. It is located inside the citadel complex (but not inside the fort premises), provides a brilliant illuminated view of the golden fortress from the terrace, creates a rustic yet unique ambiance and offers brilliant food. We stayed at the suite located on the terrace, which had a sitting area and a bedro...

Thanks for making my trip so memorable. The owner of the property lives there and has given so much attention to details. staff is very friendly and warm. I was staying with my son. That night only few rooms were booked. Yet no compromise was done on the services. They have exclusive sand dunes. The driver Bikul signh was very helpful in taking us for Quad biking which ...

The Gulaal - is an excellent place to stay in Jaisalmer. It's built like a haveli and the rooms are very spacious. You feel welcomed. We were upgraded to a suite on arrival. The breakfast was included in our room tariff and is a la carte - the chhole bhature are extremely good. The best part about this is that everything is prepared fresh and to our specifications. The hotel is named as Shahi Palace which means Royal, and that is the exact treatment that these people provide you.. 1. The first thing is location. The hotel is situated in the mail city with a 2 min walk from bus stand stand 5 min from railway station. However, they provide you free pick up. The hotel is situated exactly in front of jaisalamer fort. The view from ...

Stayed for only one night, after our flight from Delhi to Jaisalmer was cancelled by Spicejet at the last minute. The airport opened for commercial flights just a week or two ago, so that wasn't a good sign. But the Marriott Jaisalmer is an exceptional hotel. Admittedly, the hotel did not seem anywhere near full, but the personal attention given by staff was (almost...

Hotel Garh is the best hotel we stayed during our trip. 1. Clean and comfortable room with nice decoration. Bed sheet is clean, tower is clean, with good quality shampoo and shower gel. Especially the bath room is very clean, always have hot water and the window is facing nice view. Inside the decoration is so beautiful and details, feeling like in the palace chamber....

First of all, as name suggests, "Dunes desert safari and camps", There is no such camp. Google took us to address and Two guys came to us and showed us tents ( In pathetic state) and told you came to write place and we have your reservation. But this was not the place which we saw on Internet. We refused and spoke with manager and he told that you have to stay at th...

★★★I am sure that if you dont visit here, it's like that you dont come Jaisalmer★★★ After coming here, I got to know why fotiya's hotel is the most famous in jaisalmer. Perfect place to stay inside the fort on a budget. Incredible views, great restaurant and reasonable prices, good wifi, hot water in the shower, peaceful nights sleep. Great camel safari booked through the guest house. Staff are lovely. Tuk tuk from the station should be 80-100r (double at night). Definitely recommend. Honeymoon suite is simple but would definitely sta...

We really loved our stay at the Golden Marigold Hotel. Sorab and his team showed us nothing but kindness. They were warm and hospitable, helping us organise a trip to the desert and cooking us the most amazing food while telling us all about desert customs and life on the rooftop terrace. A charming little hotel, close to the fort, I couldn’t recommend it more highly. ...

I only stayed here one night but the staff was very helpful. They picked me up from the railway station at midnight and took me to the hotel. The view was pretty great since you're literally inside the Golden Fort. Room and bathroom were simple yet functional for my needs, a bit cramped. Laundry was a bit pricey but I didn't end up using it anyways.

I didn't expect to find Shiva Guest House as perfect as it was. I just booked the place for few hours rest before I hopped on a midnight train. It turned out to be one of the most place I would always come back to if I ever go back to Jaisalmer. It's very clean, the owner - Shiva - and his staff were very nice and friendly. It's totally worth more than price I pay.

Location and value. Our room got the warm winter sun and the building doesn't face a noisy road. The owners Sunny and Lucky were so helpful in arranging a fantastic overnight safari, even though it was for only two people. Pirkas the safari guide was terrific and delivered a wonderful experience, making great food and a warm desert bed. The hotel allowed us to return...

Hotel Renuka was by far the friendliest & welcoming place we have ever stayed in or outside of India. This guest house situated on the edge of the fort has a great location and views across jaisalmer below. The restaurant is in a quirky room with a couple of little balconys that you can sit in. Stayed in the "adam and eve suite"- great views of jaisalmer and a lovely large, clean room with ensuite bathroom. Only downfall is the fact the bedroom door doesnt lock properl...

When we got here they said Agoda made an error and the air con room we booked was triple the price and we had to pay the difference. I don't know if this is a scam so beware of this- a few other people in the hotel had the same issue. Apart from this since Agoda agreed to pay the balance the food at the sister hotel is good. It is clean for Indian standards, don't expe...

This hotel is in the middle of the Jaisalmer fort, a prime location. The food on the roof restaurant is good. The rooms are good as well. Where this hotel lacks is in sanitary facilities. There is one shared bathroom for the whole hotel and the hot shower is a pain to get going. For the price it's totally worth it!

Ba is very welcoming and friendly. He creates a very relaxing atmosphere from start to finish. The cafe has the best views of the city palace and is a comfy place to spend the evening after a long day exploring. Excellent food, try the mushroom pes curry!! Ba can organise an excellent camel Safari which is well and truly off the beaten track. The rooms are small and co...

I’ve been traveling across SE Asia and India for 4 months. I’ve stayed at a wide range of dozens of hotels and Gaji might be the very best one yet. Location is great, price is very fair, room is clean with good air con, and restaurant is one of the best in town. But, the real magic lies in the staff. Gaji himself is a very active owner, meeting me on my bus to give m...

i stayed at roop mahal for two nights in febuary and found it to be a great hotel. the location is ideal, only about 5 mins walking into the fort, and your also very close to 2 atms (none in the fort), a corner shop, and the markets. the rooms are decent size too, with large, comfy beds, tvs and most importantly hot showers! something i very needed very much after m...

First of all, the rooms are really like how they look in the pictures, beautiful. The beds are very comfy, the rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. They’ve got a nice rooftop terrace with a view over the town and the fort. The camel safari they offer is great. Is does no...

The staff were so friendly and helpful, always on hand to advise about where to go etc. Delicious food with a beautiful view of the fort. The location is good with 5 minute walk to the fort entrance and it’s away from the centre so more peaceful. The only issue we had was water came into the room due to very heavy rain - the staff quickly cleaned it up and dealt with i...

This hotel has been our favourite place to stay on our 10 months of travel. We arrived very late and the staff waited up for us and also upgraded our room which was an amazing surprise. I've never felt so taken care of in a hotel. Rooms are beautiful, like a 5 star hotel and they're super affordable! The food is delicious too! Beautiful views of the fort from the rooft...

When we arrived at this hotel the staff (Issack ) was very helpful let us on into our room before we checked in , we went on desert safari through the hotel which was awesome and found the price reasonable compared to others . Compared with other accommodation in India, it was a very clean and classy accommodation and breakfast was delicious. Thanks to the kind and thoughtful manager, we moved to this nice and high-class place due to power failure even though we booked another small accommodation (also clean and nice) which is operated by the same royal family.

We enjoyed the nicely extraordinal atmosphere!! Camel ride is included in the stay. We stayed in India for a week and the meal here was the best!! Make sure Uber is not available this area; taxi will cost you approximately 2000INR from JSA airport. とても良い雰囲気と、ご飯が他のどのホテルよりとっても美味しかったです。宿泊料にラクダ体験も含まれています。Uberは使えないのでタクシーで2000ルピーほどかかります。

Our auto guy who came to drop us to the desert camp kept on grumbling all through out the way for having booked online. When we arrived at the destination, we were shocked to see the name Winds Desert Camp instead of Karni Desert Camp. And moreover we could not locate sand dunes anywhere close by. The auto fellow also kept on telling us that we have been cheated. ...

Killa Bhawan was epic. I fell in love with this cozy, charming, beyond friendly hotel. The views from our terrace were dreamy, straight out of a fairly tale. The staff were more than kind and helpful. The rooms are lovely. It must be the best hotel in Jaisalmer.

First, the hotel was located far away from city noise. It's a very calm place. Dislikes: The rooms were small compared to others. Leaking wash basin. Fly infested dining area, arrogant staff in dinning area. Non working fountain and other garden facilities. Too much Oily food and not much options in breakfast. Altogether not value for money. Likes: Friendly reception...

We drove down to jaisalmer, and the hotel is located slap-bang next to the hoghway right before the city. The golden city is amazing and one of last town with a magical feeling and of old ancient arabic-Indian feeling.
A place where you might like to visit again. The fort and the desert experience are worth at least one visit.
Jaisalmer is an excellent city. Tourist wanting to experience the history and culture of Rajasthan and India should visit the city.
most impressive city in india, especially those city view guest house in the fort.price are reasonable but superb good view.
City of forts and food. Friendly people, guides speak English comfortably, and also click good photo.
Lovely golden city with a lovely palace, people were so friendely and meet a guide called Shanti who was a delight and showed me aroung and introduces me to the local people, shopping was great value.
We spent 2 nights, 3 nights would be better for relaxing in the middle of long trip. We did not do camel rides, did not seem that interesting for us.
Jaisalmer has a touch of real orient and 1001 nights that we did not find in other places in India. It is really exotic.
Stay in the fort - and stay at least a week, and go on a desert safari. And you may never want to leave, like me.
Jaisalmer is perfect for experiencing Rajasthan. The Fort is amazing and the shopping is fun and exotic.
It was particularly interesting and fun talking to the locals, usually merchants, but others too, about their lives in Jaisalmer and lving by the desert.
People are very friendly and would not take advantage of you.The forts and palaces are not to be missed and also the sand dunes are worth the visit.
Very nice place to visit. the area is full of history and some of the places are so maintained that the History becomes Live.
- Take guide for Fort, Palace, Havelis and Gadisar Lake (don't pay more than 500 bucks) - Make a must-visit to "Desert Cultural Center" next to Gadisar Lake and see Puppet Show.
Nothing much to see in Jaisalmer. Main attraction is sun dunes which is around 60,70 kms outside jaisalmer
A very pleasant city with historical importance.Good desert safari and sand dunes to see around the place.
A beautiful city with stunning architecture. You MUST do a camel safari! It's a whole day and evening event with a show at the end.
Jaisalmer is famous for the fort. There are too many articles on it so I shall not write anything about.
Very old Fort city which is still being lived in by high percentage of the Jaisalmer population. It's not just a museum fort but very much alive! Lots of little shops selling all the same kind of things from trinkets and gifts to Rajasthani carpets and wall hangings and brass ornaments and many leather goods.

Discovering the Golden City of Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer, often referred to as the Golden City, captivates visitors with its breathtaking sandstone architecture that shimmers like gold in the sunlight. This enchanting city, located in the heart of the Thar Desert, has a rich history that dates back to the 12th century when it was founded by Rawal Jaisal. The city is not only a vital trade route but also a cultural melting pot, showcasing a blend of Rajput and Mughal influences. As you wander through its narrow lanes, you will encounter intricately carved havelis, vibrant bazaars, and the majestic Jaisalmer Fort, which stands as a testament to the city’s glorious past.
The fort itself, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the largest forts in the world and is unique for being a living fort, with shops, hotels, and residences nestled within its walls. Visitors can explore the fort's stunning architecture, including the ornate Jain temples and the royal palaces that tell tales of the city's regal history. Jaisalmer's strategic location along ancient trade routes made it a prosperous hub, fostering a rich tapestry of culture, art, and commerce that continues to thrive today.
In addition to its historical significance, Jaisalmer offers a vibrant atmosphere filled with local traditions and festivities. The city hosts numerous events throughout the year, such as the Desert Festival, where you can witness captivating performances, camel races, and local crafts. This combination of history, culture, and celebration makes Jaisalmer a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the heart of Rajasthan.
Top Reasons to Experience Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer is a city that promises unforgettable experiences, making it a top choice for travelers. One of the most compelling reasons to visit is the stunning Jaisalmer Fort, which dominates the skyline and offers panoramic views of the surrounding desert. Inside the fort, explore the intricately designed havelis, such as Patwon Ki Haveli, known for its exquisite architecture and historical significance. The fort is not just a structure; it is a vibrant community where you can immerse yourself in the local culture, shop for handicrafts, and savor delicious local cuisine.
The local cuisine is another enticing reason to visit Jaisalmer. Indulge in authentic Rajasthani dishes like dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, and ker sangri. Numerous restaurants and eateries serve these traditional meals, allowing visitors to savor the rich flavors of the region. The bustling local markets are perfect for picking up spices, sweets, and handicrafts, making your culinary adventure even more memorable.
For adventure seekers, Jaisalmer offers an array of desert experiences that will leave you in awe. From thrilling camel safaris across the undulating sand dunes to stargazing under the vast desert sky, the options are endless. Local camps, such as Sky Desert Safari Camp Jaisalmer, provide an authentic experience with cultural programs featuring music and dance, ensuring that your adventure is both exciting and enriching.
When to Embrace the Magic of Jaisalmer
Timing your visit to Jaisalmer can significantly enhance your experience, as the weather and local events play a crucial role in your adventure. The best time to explore this stunning city is from October to March, when the weather is pleasantly cool and ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. During these months, daytime temperatures hover around 20-25°C (68-77°F), making it perfect for wandering through the fort and enjoying desert excursions.
Additionally, visiting during this period allows you to partake in local festivals that showcase the vibrant culture of Jaisalmer. The Desert Festival, held in February, is a highlight, featuring traditional music, dance, and competitions that bring the city to life. This festival is a great opportunity to engage with the local community and experience the rich heritage of Rajasthan firsthand.
While summer months (April to June) can be extremely hot, with temperatures soaring above 40°C (104°F), the off-peak season offers lower hotel rates and fewer crowds. If you prefer a quieter experience, consider visiting during the monsoon season (July to September), when the desert transforms into a lush landscape, though rainfall can be unpredictable. Regardless of when you choose to visit, Jaisalmer's charm and allure are sure to captivate your heart.
Essential Travel Tips for Jaisalmer Adventures
Traveling to Jaisalmer can be an exciting adventure, but it's essential to be prepared for the unique experiences that await you. One of the first tips is to dress appropriately for the desert climate. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are ideal during the day, while evenings can get chilly, so packing a light jacket is wise. Comfortable footwear is also crucial, as you'll want to explore the fort and surrounding areas on foot.
When it comes to local customs, it's important to be respectful of the traditions and practices of the local community. Greeting locals with a friendly namaste and being mindful of cultural sensitivities will go a long way. Additionally, be sure to stay hydrated, especially during the warmer months, and carry a reusable water bottle to reduce plastic waste.
