Leh hotels & places to stay

we have spent 4 nights at the hotel. all staffs are very friendly and very helpful. rooms are nice and clean. hot water is 24 hours. location is very nich which is near to the main bazzar (5 mins walk). we have been upgraded to stay one night in the luxury suite. the room is very awesom with 2 big bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and tea room! we have spent at 3 hotels in leh for this trip and spic n span is the best!!!! highly recommend.

This hotel is quoted by our taxi driver as 5 star hotel in Leh which is true. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff is very nice and friendly. The best thing for us is, this place is the only hotel we spent 10 days in Leh with an elevator which is very helpful for those who need special assistance or are suffering for AMS. Breakfast is very nice, room is neat and clean!

Great location - 5 min walk to main market but not on the main road (hence much quieter and peaceful). The owners and staff are fantastic - super helpful and caring to all their guests from any country (or state of India). will help you arrange anything in Leh/Ladakh. we booked two days initially and ended up spending every night in Leh there - simply no reason to move (other than availability). The hotel is located a 20 minute walk or 100 rupee taxi journey from the centre of Leh. Although this may not sound ideal, it is actually a lovely little place and a welcome little enclave away from the dust and noise of central Leh itself. Prices were very reasonable for food and drink, and rooms were always clean. We were very difficult customers in that we kept on chopping and changing our plans due to road closures or my altitude sickness and the subsequent abandonment of a trek. However, staff and the manager were always excellent, very accommodating and were always able to satisfy our demands. Very good value for Leh, and very nice people who run the place. Would recommend.

The rooms are clean and well equipped. When we first arrived, there was no toilet seat cover (which we didn't pay any attention to it nor bring it up) however within the next hour a brand new cover was installed. Everyone is happy and nice in the hotel. Location is walking distance from the main market but away from the constant noise of vehicles horns (common in most places) A great play to rest and chill out in peace overlooking the snow peak mountains in the pretty gardens. Food is delicious and prepared fresh. Highly recommended hotel in Leh and value for money.

Nimmu house is a nice remote getaway in Leh and is a good place to acclimatise before setting out on your adventures to nubra or pangong. The staff are exemplary and very helpful and the tents and rooms very tastefully built and have everything you need. The food is on the steep side for what you get but I guess this is a remote area. I only felt a bit miffed being charged full meal prices 1200 Rs per meal even for my 12 year old daughter who basically nibbles and mostly just consumes air. Electricity is touch and go and there was one day where it was gone for almost 6 hours in the evening. This is not something in their control but just good to know. They arranged a rafting trip for us which was a real highlight of the stay and I took the momo making class with the in-house chef which was fun ! The outdoor surroundings are gorgeous with a lush orchard dotted with hammocks and sitting areas. A bonfire pit which was a nice gathering spot late evening. The house itself is built in ladakhi style and has been restored. All in all a lovely place to stay but I think they need to be a bit more accommodating on the food pricing or offer some a la carte or simple packages especially for kids as other than that it has been an absolutely wonderful relaxing and memorable stay.

I stayed in this place the whole time I was in Leh town. The location was perfect. The place itself is clean. It isn't spotlessly clean but my room and the bathroom are always a priority to most and it's clean. The food isn't great nor there are a lot of options but this is true anywhere in Leh anyway so that's not surprising. Chow mien (stir fried noodles) became my fave meal. The portion is generous which I have to remind Arjun (manager) to just give me enough. Arjun ( manager) is my brother in this house. He looked after me, my concerns, and was always there whenever I needed something. He is helpful and friendly. I befriended Bruno (dog), Arjun's sidekick, and Thinles (owner). People are so friendly in Leh and if you don't expect too much, you'll love this place. Don't expect wifi to be working all the time. It isn't the reason you're there. There will be confusion in bookings as again it needs wifi. People need to be patient and understand how things work there. It is unfair how people get so frustrated with little things like not having hot water or wifi not working and complain about it. This is not a city. It doesnt have all the amenities but it is sufficient enough. So if you are looking for a comfy place and convenient to everything, book this place. I loved my stay here. I was warm and welcomed. We had travelled about 15 days before the season starts since this was our only chance at this vacation. We had booked for first 2 days via Agoda and we checked in about 2 hours early. The hosts at the property were welcoming and immediately ensured we are taken care of. We ended up staying for 5 days with them and they continue to surprise us with their love and hospitality. Madam literally acted like a mom away from home at most times. She ensured we had our travel booked(if not, she got us conveyance at a discount). She ensured we are well fed. We had full access to kitchen, not only did she ensure we get what we like eating, she also let us kitchen as and when needed. She ensured we were well packed for Pangong by offering us extra jackets etc. for free. We had full access to wi-fi, to cable television and to hot water when needed. She ensured we have the best time possible in Leh. I had a lot of fun living here and it almost felt like i am leaving a family behind when we left. I would whole heartedly recommend this place to any traveller.

Extremely comfortable is the thing about my stay here at Dorje's guesthouse. It was my first time in Leh. I stayed here for 2 days and trust me, my stay was super comfy. The family of five are incredibly helpful and sweet, they are very much kind, hospitable and will be at your disposal any time of the day and not to forget their smart naughty 6 year old son. These folks make you feel like family. Gonna be back late from the trek, not to worry, she is happy to prepare you the dinner late night. It was very kind that he helped me in a lot of things like planning my stay here, helping me with a sim card, rent a bike, to helping me with my plans of visiting the famous spots in and around Leh through his travel agency, Ladakh Yeti Travels. The location of the house to the view from the rooms, everything is so good about this place. The next time I or my family or any of my friends are in leh, It's surely gonna be Dorje's guesthouse! Nothing can beat that in Leh.

I stayed in Shaolin guesthouse for two weeks recently. It is a local family-run guesthouse and a Ladakhi experience on its own. It is clean, comfortable, quiet, friendly and great value for money. The house is a 15-min walk away from central Leh and all its loud traffic so it's ideal if you like quiet nights. It is also a good place to stay if you're planning to travel around Ladakh as you will get travel tips from hosts and fellow travelers and you can keep your luggage there - even keep your room if it's not fully booked - if you're planning to be away for a few days. The owners and staff are kind and friendly and will help you in any way they can to make your stay and travel a pleasant experience. They cook breakfast and dinner for all the guests at a very reasonable price and the food is delicious; also there is unlimited mint tea and you can help yourself to fruit from their beautiful garden! Dinner is at around 8pm and is always a fun experience as all guests get together, but if you feel like having a quiet one, there is always WIFI, which works better than in most internet cafes in town. After 2 months in India, Shaolin has been by bar my favourite stay. I'll be back!

Saboo resort offers all you want from a cottage stay in the lap of nature. The staff takes care of all even your smallest need in a big way. The reaort offers Panaromic view of leh. With beautifully decorated and deicated staff you feel so comfortable that the harsh climatic conditions become easy to jbe there we loved every moment and would love to go back ans stay again

Facilities – Small hotel with a large relaxing and peaceful garden, in the quiet area of Leh but not far from the main market, very attuned to the needs and wishes of international travelers. Rooms – Basic, clean and comfortable rooms, in-line with the price range and expectations. Please beware that mattresses in most Leh hotels are very firm. Staff – Very friendly and attentive staff. Good in-house restaurant offering variety of foods and open to off-menu “comfort food” requests.

We has a great stay at this Hotel. In fact we had 2 separate stays there. Had a few issues with Agoda to begin with regarding bookings but Dorje soon had them sorted out. The location of this hotel was a 10 min walk from the town of Leh which was good. We enjoyed our walks into town. The views are stunning. Surrounded by mountain views, the kings palace and rural life. We looked at Shanti Stupa from our hotel window everyday. We especially enjoyed the interaction of the staff. They were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great too. We would like to say a big heartfelt thankyou to all at the Hotel Royal Ladakh. We stayed here for an entire week. The owners just live downstairs, and it's a kind-hearted family with a super-cute little daughter. They also invited us for a cup of tea at their home downstairs. The room had a nice view of the garden. WiFi did not work when we were there. Sometimes, noisy Indian guests came in late at night and it was only after the owner told them off that they kept quiet. The hotel is not located in the centre, so we hired a scooter for the week which the owner kindly organized for us. We felt very much home here. It was great!

Mandala used to be our transit stop hotel for every day travel from Leh to different places. I appreciate hospitality of the staff. Special thanks to Tashi madam for arranging the regional transport for us in affordable price. Food served was delicious. This place is also short listed by Kesari group and many travel agency. Market areas are close-by. Had a great Stay at Mandala.

Place : Far from main market around 25- 30 minites by walk. The guest house has nessesary facility for winter (hot water, heater , hot drinking water). You can order the breakfast and dinner. The toilet is normal (not modern) but that isn't the problem. Owner : Very good support and hospitality. He will help you everything that you want. The Last, you can be sure that you will get the suitable price at all.

I wish the price had been a little lower for what we got at Cho Palace. The location is a long walk from the main market area, the showers were often not hot, and the internet did not work during our stay, but they did let us check in at 7am and leave our bags for days while we trekked. There was a really cool cultural show one evening, and we ended up with a small discount on our stay. If you're trying to get away and enjoy fantastic mountain views in Leh without distractions, Cho Palace is a great place to be.
