"The location is perfect. It’s between the 2 train stations (Gare de Lille Europe & Gare de Lille Flanders). It’s attached to a big shopping mall where there’s also a big supermarket (Carrefour). There’s also a carpark for the hotel guests underneath the hotel. It’s a short walk to the old Lille area and lots of restaurants and high end shopping. The rooms are clean and big. I booked 2 studios for the family of 4 and we were given rooms right across each other. It has a kitchenette with microwave, small fridge and dishwasher. The staff are helpful and friendly. The only negative is it doesn’t have an airconditioning, although it has an electric fan. Our room was a bit hot in the afternoon as it was getting direct sunlight, so I had to turn on 2 electric fans facing directly to the bed as I was feeling a bit uncomfortable with the heat. I guess I’m just not used to hotels without air conditioning."

Discover Lille: Fun Facts and Reasons to Visit

Lille, the capital of the Hauts-de-France region in northern France, is a vibrant city known for its Flemish architecture, lively cultural scene, and rich history. The city's name is derived from the Dutch word "l'île," which means "the island," as Lille was originally built on an island in the Deûle River. One of the most interesting facts about Lille is that it was once a major center of the textile industry, producing some of the finest fabrics in Europe. Today, the city is home to a number of museums and galleries that showcase its textile heritage, including the Musée de l'Hospice Comtesse and the Musée de la Piscine. Lille is also famous for its annual street fair, the Braderie de Lille, which takes place on the first weekend of September. But there are many other reasons to visit Lille besides its history and culture. The city is also known for its excellent shopping, with a wide range of boutiques, department stores, and markets to explore.
