"We stayed at this hotel because of the access to public transit, and the free hotel van to downtown Madrid, and the airport. What we did not expect is the architectural features of the hotel It's rather like an art museum, with different themes on different floors. While the rooms themselves are lovely, with wifi an "interesting" bathtub (on the "Star Wars" floor) it is a classy joint. It's spotlessly clean as well. We included the breakfast buffet in our package, and though a little pricy, I would have to give it five stars. The food is very good, with great variety I don't think you'll be sorry if you stay here on your next Madrid trip. While it is not in central Madrid, a very short walk will put you at the nearby Metro stop. After that, you can really go anywhere in Madrid, though the hotel will drop you off downtown as well. This is one of those hotels that you will remember for the rest of your life. It is quite unique, and quite reasonably priced at the time of year we visited. "

"I didn't have to wait long for the shuttle bus to bring me to hotel. Bus was easy to find. Check in was fast. Service was efficient and staff were very helpful. Room was in order. When I asked how to get to the city center, bus stop was just opposite side of the hotel. Not a long bus ride and the metro stop where the bus ends will bring you anywhere in the city of madrid"

It is also close to several major museums in Madrid. Hotel room is small, but nicely decorated. the staff are fluent in English and helpful. however, the hotel charges clients for internet access. "

"our travel agent searched for hours/days for the best hotel in madrid based on our budget and we were very happy with the nh nacional hotel. the location was perfect, a short walk from the rail station and our arrival train into madrid, and the surrounding streets and plazas were crowded with people, shops, rastaurants and bars. the rooms are not large but more than adequate for our stay. all in all a great stay. "We stayed in Espahotel Plaza de Espana for two nights which was a very old run down hotel but the room was very spacious with a small kitchen; might be good for family stay. The location was very good which was close to the city centre and Royal Palace of Madrid; only about five minutes’ walk to the Royal Palace of Madrid. There was no free parking provided; you needed to pay Euro 22 to park your car in a public parking garage near the hotel. The front desk guy was not very friendly who had never bothered to say hello to us or gave us a smile when we passed him a number of times during our stay. "

"Typical Novotel quality and service. Hotel is relatively new inside and quite spacious. Location is not right in the middle of Madrid, so there's a bit of a commute to get to the sights, but on the other hand it's quiet at night and literally 100m from the first stop of the export express bus. There are several subway stations nearby (try using Goya for quick access to the city center) and some supermarkets, restaurants, cafes etc. We arrived at 9am after a long flight and were given a room right away which was very much appreciated. Rooms are big enough with good bathroom, big TV, free bottles water and a fridge, but lacking natural light due to small windows. "

"Although is 10 stops away from the old city (center) is conveniently located in a quite area with the station Plaza de la Concordia at 100mt from the door of the hotel! The ride is only 20 minutes to the main attraction and after you whole walking day - you happy to return in your 4 star hotel to chill a relax. Only negative points I could spot: - lacking of restaurants or bar around the entire hotel area (make sure you are satiated when you return to the hotel) - not all the staff is under good training and perhaps I got some false information which cost me a lot of time waste.. Anyway, should I have chance to go back to Madrid, I would stay again."
