Where to stay in New York (NY)
New York (NY) hotels & accommodations

The Manhattan Club Hotel is a an elegant establishment located close to Central Park, Carnegie Hall and the Times Square Theater district all of which are in walking distance from the hotel. Whilst it is not modern is charm is in its old world charm. The 26th level hosts the gym and guest lounge which is both comfortable and relaxing.

As a first time traveler to New York, the James Nomad hotel did not disappoint. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by such friendly staff. Having a red eye flight, it took the stress out of my visit for them to openly offer to hold my bags, as well as enjoy hot coffee in the lobby while I unwound from a long flight with minimal sleep, while good vibes music playe...

we stayed at the affinia shelburne for 5 nights at the end of october 2011. from beginning to end we only experienced excellence in comfort and customer service. the room was really large (new york is known for small rooms) i dont believe anyone could complain about the size of the rooms at the affinia shelburne. location - 3 blocks from grand central station. or 3...

Stayed for 11 days with sister and 2 teenage nephews. Nice hotel, good facilities, very clean, Excellent central location, staff very courteous and polite. Maureen who works on hospitalities? desk - very very informative and certainly gave us the best advice on what to see and do whilst staying in New York! Hotel owner - Joe or Mr C! makes a point to greet his gues...

I really enjoyed the friendly and cosy atmosphere of the Dylan Hotel. Staff were very helpful and the room was spacious with an excellent, stylish bathroom. The location was fantastic, just off Madison Avenue and 42nd Street. I used buses nearby to go everywhere in New York. There were excellent restaurants nearby, in particular Madison & Vine on the corner. They do a ...

Appreciated the welcome we received on check in. We were so excited to receive an upgrade to a beautiful suite with the cutest balcony which we enjoyed for the week we were in New York. Beautifully comfortable beds and spotlessly clean room. We also appreciated the kindness of security and housekeeping staff when I was ill during our stay. Thankyou for making my daugh...

Our room was perfect size not too small nor too big. Our beds were absolutely the best ever. I would recommend the hotel based on just the bed alone but the stay was very smooth from check in to check out. We had the day to stay and tour til our departure so Hitt had luggage storage access did just $5 per bag we used so we could still go through town with the kids and ...

Was quite happy with the choice of the hotel. The rooms were quite spacious for NY hotel. The staff was excellent at reception and breakfast. The location is 2 mins from the times square and its on the main road. You can even walk down to central park. So i would say its great choice, if you get right price. Only minor downside - the rooms are a bit old style. In NY t...

As usual, we had a wonderful stay in this hotel! It was already our second time, and perhaps we will always return if we have the chance. The room, though not as huge as the ones we stayed in in Las Vegas and Washington, was big and comfortable enough. The interior decoration was noticeably newer and more modern than our last stay. Maybe they undertook some renovation....

It is hard to beat the location of this hotel, between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue. We could walk everywhere. While there was no coffee maker or tea kettle in the room, hot water will be delivered on request - this is a complimentary service. We would definitely stay there again.

From outside the hotel may seems old, but inside is really beautiful. The hotel is clean and new! That's what I like with this hotel, with a good deal, getting newly renovated hotel in New York is pretty tough. Big Bus City Tour (also newer city tour) that provides all loops also very convenient as is it just right in front of the main entrance hotel. For supper lover ...

This is a lovely well situated almost boutique hotel very close to everything you could want to do in New York. The staff were very good and we even managed to get a room upgrade which was a beautiful room with jacuzzi bath which was great after a long day touring New York. The only down side was the Air conditioning which could not be adjusted so we had to open the w...

We had a biz trip in New York state and a bonus holiday at the end. We just chose what seemed to be the best among the rest but the hotel exceeded our expectation. The room was not so big but just enough for two. The facility was just comfortable for a short stay.

Our stay at the City Club Hotel was in two words amazing . I can not think how they could improve on it , it was flawless . I had read that the rooms were small but man are they well thought out , every amenity you could want and never once did we feel cramped .The bathroom was simply wonderful with the best shower I may have ever taken , didn't want to get out . We t...

Staff was super friendly & helpful, room was clean, bed comfortable, location was wonderful. Had a business dinner at the restaurant & again, staff & service was great, food delicious. If you want modern & sleek with million dollar views, this isn’t the hotel for you. If you want a clean, friendly place to explore New York from, I would definitely recommend it. I’d s...

I visited with two of my grand-daughters and it was our first visit to New York. We found the hotel very easy as a base to see all we wanted to in New York. Easy accesss to subway and plenty of eating places nearby.the staff were friendly and helpful. We were supplied with clean towels every day and the communal parts of the hotel were clean. No complaints and very...

Location was great. Rooms small but this is New York so that’s expected. Very clean rooms and we loved the neutrogena shampoo/ body wash etc! Unfortunately staff was extremely rude and not helpful at all. When I booked the hotel according to Agoda site, check in started from 3pm. At the hotel we were informed that this was wrong (check in was at 4pm) and were asked to...

The room was always cleaned to perfection. Staff could not be any more friendly and helpful . Fantastic hotel all round, thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anybody travelling to New York. It’s a must! Thank you for the best stay.

PROs Great location.. short walk to shows, restaurants and Rockfeller Center. Concierge and Bellhops awesome!! Very attentive and accommodating. Provided nice amenities to celebrate my sister's birthday which made her feel special. Rooms larger than most in New York CONs Drinks on site pricey and I have had much better for less in similar level hotels Rooftop bar ope...

Lovely boutique hotel, fantastic location , literally on the Empire States doorstep....staff were lovely, bedrooms spacious and clean. Bathrooms a little small but workable and only 2 lifts in the hotel which at times were a tad annoying, best value for money we’ve had in New York, would not hesitate to stay here again .

We wanted a hotel - not a hostel, and New York hotels are very expensive, so I was a little wary about this one, but I need not have worried. The Windsor is a boutique hotel next to a park, ideal if you want to get to know real New York people. Grand St station is around the corner, so it is easy to travel anywhere - the 7 day pass was great value at around $29. Easy w...

Great location, decent price for New York, slightly noisy air-conditioning, room a bit small but probably average for New York, minimal hotel facilities but offers a gym walking distance away from the hotel, no pool/spa/sauna/games room. $30/day Extra fee charged to force you to drink 2 drinks at the hotel bar, but we met some nice people there (other "forced" guests)....

We had a great time during our short stay. The staff is great. The room was very clean, big (I have been to other hotels in the area and the rooms are small!) , and comfy. Let’s just say my daughter didn’t want to leave and we will be taking another weekend trip to the Belvedere!
Cheap places to stay in New York (NY)

Pro: Big dorm room with individual bed. Ensuit shower & toilet. Comfy bed bed. Clean room. Comfortable comunal area with tv, books, and boardgame. Free tea, coffee, and filtered water. There's a kitchen with cooking ware. Nice and friendly staffs. Daily information about what to do in NY/Brooklyn. Easy access to 2 metro stations. Within walking distance to supermarket ...

I was concerned when I saw this hotel because it was only 2 reviews. But I book my hotel so last minutes before New Year trip. This hotel was cheapest and I didn’t have budget for other expensive hotels. So I booked Giorgio before my trip prior 3 days. When I arrived, the hotel was clean with king size bed. The service was nice. Location is excellent, it’s so close t...

Stayed at Bed 307E, the room is spacious with high ceiling, not feeling crowded at all with 4 other travellers. Hostel location is superb walking distance to all things. close to Metro stations for lines connecting other parts of New York. My favourite spot is definitely Central Park, nearly every morning i went jogging and working out there because it is just so close...

I had to book a last minute flight to NY and could not even find a couch in Williamsburg to sleep on. Air BnBs are an unknown factor at best and are only readily available at this price out in NJ. For 45$ a night, I wasn't expecting much, but it was very safe inside and out. I didn't have to worry about my bags at all since I had the option of storing them in the lugga...

This type of accommodation wll not be for everyone, but for me it was really great. The shining star that I want to comment about first is Breakfast. It is just superb. It is a meat-free menu but it's a 10 out of 10 from me. Cereals, different breads, meat free toppings, fresh organic fruit, Ground coffee. Provides a great start to the day. Staff are, by and large, hel...

If you are open-minded and on a budget, this is a doable stay. The room was quite adequate and clean. The furnace was on, very hot and couldn't be turned off. I've since learned that is a NY thing. If I had been less tired when I arrived, I may have thought to turn on the ac window unit to counteract the heat and the outside noise. Since it is a YMCA and people live...

I've taken to stopping over in New York on a Saturday night to take in a Broadway, when traveling from Europe to the US on business. Staying at the West Side YMCA Hostel has twice now been a good experience. The Hostel is on Broadway, and a 20 minute walk, or one or two NY Metro stops, to most Broadway or Off-Broadway theaters.

Close to the orange line. But I enjoy walking and New York is the place to do just that. I don’t mind shared bathrooms and every time that any of us had to use it the bathroom were available and clean. Rooms are small but I’ve never had a room that was much larger and I’ve stayed in over 15 different hotels in the city. 5 minute walk to Macy’s and 5 minutes to Broad...

Very very nice hotel and looking forward staying here again next time. The rooms was amazing clean and spotless. The staff very nice and friendly.. highly recommended if your looking for hotel in New York. I love this hotel!! They can also organize hotel transfer to any airport. Really good hotel !!

We spent a week n this modest but cimfortablel hotel. It is an older hotel but it is very clean. The rooms are not big but this is New York. The staff were friendly and obliging. Yaw in particular with his lovely smile went out his way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. All the staff whether is was the housekeeping or the general staff, NEVER failed to smile and g...

Stayed here last week, good location for public transit, F& M trains to uptown and buses close by. 4-5 walk to the subway. Right Across to Tenement Museum and plenty of good eating places and grocery place. Pros: Good location, price for NY, cleanliness, Coffee shop at the front, friendly staff , especially the young ladies. Rooms, with very clean linens like a hotel...

Very nice boutique hotel with a lot of nice elemtents that make your stay so different and just nice. Soho is fantastic as it is not that crowded and the best area to stay in New York. The hotel is fantastic and jut beautiful to stay with. Defenitely will come back and recommend it. Thanks for a great time I had there.

Its good value for money , short walk to the nearest subway , however, G line is one of the worst lines in NYC so we spent a lot of time "waiting" rather than travelling. The hostel is clean generally, staff are all friendly and helpful. Female bathrooms are very clean , possibly there is only very few female travlllers as I only saw one other person the entire week ...

Only con was that both our room windows looked right across to offices so we had our blinds down during the whole visit. Though not a major issue as we were out all day. If you can pay a little extra get the room with kitchenette. It’s spacious by New York standards, comes with 2 tvs, fridge and microwave in the kitchenette. The sleeping area is somewhat separated from...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during Sep 2017. Having booked this accommodation after arriving on JFK airport, I was pleasantly surprised :-) Room was large and clean and the free wifi worked excellently. The bed was super comfy!! I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We enjoyed this hotel because of its location, the windows made the room seem bright and cheerful (although made it hard to sleep in), and it had facilities such as a mini fridge, a kitchen sink and microwave. The room was small (this is new york!) but was comfortable enough for two people and was a good location with a convenient coffee shop located directly underneat...

PROS. Free shuttle bus from Laguardia; comfortable bed and pillows; easy check-in; fast Wi-Fi CONS. Noisy aircon; didn't respond to 2 emails about the shuttle bus but sent it immediately once I landed and rang them. Didn't try the free breakfast as we left early.

The hotel is really beautiful, very luxurious, excellent location, walk-able to Garden City restaurants and shops. The best part about the hotel is the staff. Christina at the front desk was excellent Emilis at the Kings Bar was very nice, great service, tasty cocktails. Can't wait to go again :-)

Probably my favourite hotel in NY so far. The original art deco solid timber features and stunning bathroom are proof that they don't build 'em like they used to! Huge windows overlooking the hustle and bustle of the city, but very quiet at night. Only complaint is that the aircon/heating system was temperamental and kept switching itself back and forth between cold an...

This is a great place to stay in New York, we were 2 couples staying in two apartments and we were all very impressed with everything, the staff were extremely helpful, the apartments were very clean and modern, location was great, cleaning staff were very good, overall we would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and anyone wanting to spend a week or two in...

The interior of this hotel is very good and the location is very close to Times Square, so it is very easy for those of us who like shopping. So you can put all the shoping bags at the hotel and continue walking around NY. We think this hotel is better than ROW NYC hotel.

the bf and i decided to stay an extra night in nyc so we decided to book through through . the staff at sheraton had a difficult time finding our booking at first, as we had booked the previous night and it wasn't showing up in the system. location is key! this hotel literally sits on top of the b,d, and e train. 5th avenue's infamous high-end shopping street is just...

Our stay was great until you went for a shower... the temperature was not consistent for the hot water. we had to turn the knob all sorts of directions to get it hot. The walls of our room were thin so thin we could here the conversation next door to us! It almost seemed like they were in our room at one point! Other than that the view was awesome! Pillows are a little...

We had a pleasant stay in Box House Hotel, located in the further north Green Point area in Brooklyn, a bit distance to the hip Williamsburg, but still you can take a bus ( a little walk to the bus station, or better , is to take the ferry , a quick and scenery journey to get to all places, Williamsburg or Manhattan island ). It has much larger space ( NY standard) ...

The hotel was great, especially as Agoda messed up my pre-paid booking !! But, upon the discovery of there not being a booking in the system, the check in staff organised a room within no time at all. The hotel was clean,, comfortable and within walking distance of Times Square and surrounds. It is also close to subway entrances if you wish to explore further. It is...

Great experience, for the second time at the Helmsley Park Lane.We arrived late at night and had an upgrade to the executive suite with the Central Park´s viet, which makes all the difference while in New York. The suite had very confortable beds and was very clean. The room service is very fast and good.Next time, we´ll stay again at the Helmsley Park Lane, now, our h...

William Vale did not come close to meeting the expectations, or for that matter the requirements of a 5 star hotel rating. On the positive side, the rooms are nice, bright, clean, and reasonably sized for New York. The location is w/in walking (10 mins) to 2 subway lines, one of which (L) gets into Manhattan in 1 stop, union Sq. in 3. There’s plenty of good food ...

Pro Location is not too far from places of interest. Cons Upon our arrival on the 31st of Aug, we were told that they were overbooked and had to downgrade us to a smaller room on the first night with 150USD credit to dine in the hotel. WHAT DOES OVERBOOKED EVEN MEAN? We booked via Agoda on the 13th of July and paid in full. The fine print in the Agoda receipt clearly...

The rooms are lovely but dark and the layout of our suite was a little disconcerting as the wc was away from the shower and sink. Something different. Love the vibe though and would stay again. They had some problems with finding our reservation and tried very hard to make up for it later. 5* for service and keeping their guests happy. I loved the location and found it...

I have been blessed to visit several cities around the world but NY is special and unique to me. I have the opportunity to visit at least 3 times a year and as long as we can we will stay at The Mark! What makes this a very special "boutique hotel" is definitely its staff. Since you arrive you feel special. The willingness of all to satisfy their guests is incredible...

The Trump SoHo is simply first class, in a league of its own really. From the moment you arrive till the moment you leave, you feel taken care of by an attentive team for whom no request is too much. And all without giving you that feeling that you are intruding at a fancy party. You are always made to feel welcome and more like a resident, than simply a paying custome...

Lovely time spent in New York. This hotel is in a very good location with easy access to Times Square. The staff were polite and absolutely lovely and made every effort to ensure we were well taken care of. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

We took a quick trip to NY from NW CT and stayed at the Wagner Hotel. The service was excellent and the room was beautiful! My children loved our suite. It was their first time in a luxury hotel, and they loved the down blanket, the deep tub, the shower & the toiletries. When we got to our room we found two pairs of slippers and two robes. We called down for 2 extra s...

This is my third time staying at Conrad New York. Staffs are extremely friendly and helpful, particularly the Bellboy. They smiled and greeted all the guests who entered the hotel. I was there 6 months ago with my family and this time, I was there for business purpose. The Bellboy remembered me well and asked me how was my family doing. I was very impressed. The clean...

this hotel is located in a super chic and happening area of new york, where you can walk to some of the best restaurants and enjoy nightlife, clubs and music just blocks away. the concierge can book you at the exclusive rose bar or get you hard to find reservations. the rooms have dark red velvet curtains, and are quiet and good for sleeping. on weekends, there's a you...

very nice hotel. my first impression when i walked into the lobby was wow, very nice. the room was spacious compared to other new york city hotels i've stayed at. i love the location, the hotel is within walking distance of time square. the staff was very friendly and i will definitely stay here again. i would also recommend this hotel to my friends.

Everything was perfect! We stayed in Park Executive one bedroom suite. The view was amazing! The space is huge (bedroom, dining/living room, kitchen and 2 bathrooms). It’s very quiet in the hotel. There is a good , restaurant in the hotel (Jean Gorge - 2* Michelin). The location is good if you want to walk in the park, visit the museums and have a shopping in 5th aven...

Very good service and check in information. The room was very well presented and furnished, but a little small and had no view at all, which was a shame when we were right on Times Square. There was some confusion regarding breakfast as it was included on our Agoda booking but this hadn't been passed onto the hotel. We were eventually given coffee, juice and some pa...

Two girlfriends and I recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria (w/end 18-20 Sept 09)and we were pleasantly surprised at how friendly and accommodating such a large hotel was. On arrival at our room we were greeted with a telephone call to see if there was any additional information required; restaurant suggestions/bookings, supermarket locations, etc. and after requesti...

This building has been around for decades and it shows in some of the details such as the old elevator, the shallow bathtub, outdated furniture and a rather stodgy ambiance. Nevertheless, it's location is the best and their service is just great. If you're not looking for a state of the art, dernier cri hotel, this hotel is just fine.

If you want a New York high-end hotel near Central Park that is quiet, exclusive and has great beds. This is it. Some rooms low floors on Park avenue can be noisy if you want to sleep late. I like the back facing rooms with no view, because they are dark and super comfortable and renovated. The beds are great.

There are only a handful of 5-Star hotels in New York that combine the elegance of a beautifully maintained historic building with an uncompromising 5-Star quality experience. This is one of them and that's why it's one of my favorite hotels in New York.

This hotel is really a different class , even among the 5 star hotels. Location is best, close to everything. Wallstreet, Brooklyn Bridge, eatery, 9/11 memorial, WTC, public transport, etc are walkable distance. Great for family luxury holiday or business people alike. Amenities in the room are the best , all functional ! A little pricey, but we need to spoil ourse...

From check in to check out, our experience was very pleasant. I confirmed our Agoda booking two weeks before and requested for a room with a great view on a non-smoking floor. I also explained that my family and I would be celebrating my birthday in NY. We were assisted by Mr Kenneth Ayson upon check-in and he brought us to the room only a few minutes after our arri...

Real reviews for hotels
not all places are that impressive for tourists but it is a very interesting and diverse place to visit.
One of the best cities to visit in America if you love experiencing the city. It's very diverse and rich in history.
One of the most beautiful city in the world. You can find almost anything you want in the city. It's gives the feel of what a true melting pot should be.
New York City has so many things to offer. It has tall skyscrapers, diversity and anything you want is there.
Nice city view when you are on top of those tall building like top of the rock and empire state building.
New York is full of things to do for almost anyone from anywhere. No matter what you are interested in doing, New York has it.
Vibrant city that's nice to visit, but unless you're really into running the rat race it's not a place I'd ever live.
Purchase sightseeing package to see different perspectives of NY. Take a bus ride and boat ride to see Manhattan differently.
I like to see how people dress and be themselves in NYC. I am not a big fan of big cities. Regardless, if you do not plan ahead and just let your instinct take you inside the city.
A city that never sleeps seems to really describe the area with broadway and off broadway theaters, restaurants and people enjoying the billboards around.
New York not only has the glass wall skyscrapers but also the classic brick or granite building with renaissance wall decorations.
The skyline is amazing in the evening. The skyscraper with all lights on tells you why here is called the center of the world.
Best city in whole world. Makes sure to spend at least 5-7 days in New York, avoid going on winter times, gets very cold.
Shopping malls in NY really offers discounted prices and good items. There's a lot more to explore and visit.
Eventough NY is one of the most expensive city in the world, but i love this city so much and definetely will br back again someday
Big city, very crowded, lights never ends. They have everything in there, shopping, sightseeing, culinary, etc.
No matter what your interests are, New York will have something for you. It offers the best of the best on a level that no other city in the world can compete with.
Very exciting and full with skyscraper and billboards. Shopping is excellent and Central Park is stunning.
I was told the New Yorkers were cold. I think the opposite was the case. Everyone was very nice and friendly.
Not the same like we imagine before, great architecture with a lot of historical building, old city but it is amazing.
New York is an interesting City. Although very crowded and busy, but for a tourist New York city is a city that must be visited.
So many historical places to see. So many shopping centers to choose from and lots of enjoyment to experience.
It was our first time to New York City. We decided to go on the hop on, hop off bus to get a good idea about the city.
There are lots to see and experience in New York. If your visit is only 3-5 nights, then focus on the monuments (Liberty Island tour, Brooklyn Bridge), historical buildings (Empire State, The Rockefeller Center - take the tour and go up to the Top of the Rock observation deck), 9/11 Museum, The Highlands walkway, Times Square.
So much to see and do...world class museums, dining, china town, central park, theatre, lincoln center, endless great possibilities.
Lively. Attractive. Busy. It is true that says New York is a city that never sleeps. Unfortunately, the number of the 'unique' people is increasing and that gives the insecurities for outsiders that have not known the situation really well.
walking along the brooklyn bridge is very good experience but choosing a season to be there also poses a chakllenge.
If you like to go to the top of Statue of Liberty, you have to book 3 months before, and 1-2 months before for the base, depends on the season.
Metro card is a must buy since it costs $2.5 no matter how near or far you go. Subway map is a must since weekend some of the line will not be running and may stop in some stations.
Walking is a more fun than taking the confusing subway. I never like New York subways. Dirty, confusing, scary.
