"San Simeon is a tiny town--we had no idea it's really got very little going on then the beach and proximity to Hearst Castle. But definitely easiest to stay here for convenience. The hotel is comfortable, clean, appealing pool and a short walk to the beach, includes breakfast and is next door to one of the only few dinner options in town. "

"Was only one day, but we liked it very much. Close to the Ocean we had a great view at the sun going down. Beginning of may it was cold and windy and the next morning we had fog. Best time to stay is probably June to August. Good place for nature friends, because the San Simeon State Park is close bye."

"The place was older and the bathroom had old moldy caulk in front of the tub area. The shower head was incredibly low and awkward, but the water pressure was decent. The place appeared clean, but my socks turned BLACK from the carpet; so clearly they were very dirty. That was a big turn off. If you go, wear your socks the whole time. Bed was hard as a rock, but I like that - my husband... not so much. Breakfast was ok - expected fresh cut fruit when I was told they had a "nice breakfast". Clearly that was my error in expectation. They had eggs, bacon, make your own waffles, some yogurt choices, lots of bread, bagels & pastry and hot and cold cereal, coffee & hot water for tea. The only fruit was bananas and oranges. Certainly nothing to snuff your nose at, but I've had nicer. Everything in this food area was clean. We got a great rate, so all in all - it was a good value. Many hotels in the area are twice as much and not rated as well. "
