Sokcho-si hotels & accommodations

The hotel has a fantastic view of the East Sea and near to the seafood restaurants at Daepo Port. As we took public bus opposite Sokcho Express Bus Terminal bus stop, it is pretty convenient to get to Daepo Port and walk about 10mins to the hotel. As it was raining for the 2 days which I stayed at Sokcho, the hotel staff was very nice to help me book a taxi to get to S...

We stayed for 2 nights at Lotte Resort Sokcho. The view from our room is impressive, overlooking the ocean. Resort has all the amenities that you need - minimart, arcade, convenience store and so on.. It was a great getaway from city. Only downside is that swimming pool is not opened in winter.

i think this hotel is the best hotel in sokcho, korea. near the seoraksan natiional park. very close to go there. the room was clean , big, beautiful, and high end classic style. feel like stay at british hotel style. the staff was so friendly and warm . so enjoy to stay at this hotel. good job, kensingston star hotel!!

Travelled to Sokcho to hike Seoraksan This guesthouse is everything that you need! It has free breakfast (simple yet VERY filling) included in the rate, the rooms are really clean and the bunk beds are really spacious. The ensuite toilet is really spacious and the shower temperature is great for me! The guesthouse is just right opposite Sokcho Express Bus Terminal, ...

This hotel was a great choice. It is a bit out of town but close to several attractions. Hotel is a bit outdated and bathroom could have been cleaner. We stayed in the deluxe room and it was perfect for our family. Very roomy with dining room table, small kitchenette, couch, tv and separate bedroom. I was disappointed that the pool cost so much, it was around $30 for 1...

Great hotel and great prices. Just on the outskirts of Sokcho-si, about 6,000 KRW taxi ride to either the Bus Terminals or Seoraksan Park - kind of in the middle of both. Rooms are really nice, especially for the price. Very clean hotel, and the amenities in the rooms are very nice: big flatscreen, nice beds (mattresses are a little hard, but that's every where in ...

The guesthouse is really convenient if you are visiting Sokcho. It is located at about 3 minutes walk from the Intercity Bus Terminal which has buses to many parts of South Korea (We took a bus from Hongeye and a bus to Dong Seoul). It is also convenient to get around Sokcho (Mount Seroksan is easily accessible by bus and the fish market and beach is easily accessible ...

Goodmorning Hotel is located right by Sokcho Beach. It is also a block away from the express bus terminal which was extremely convenient my girlfriend and I (who took the express in from Seoul). I wish we had planned on staying more than just one day in Sokcho.

The lady boss and her husband provide excellent services. They are very helpful and friendly. They helped me to order seafood at the restaurant. They gave me ideas for places to visit and provide us with directions. The room is super clean and the bed is very comfortable. The shower water is hot and strong. The air con is strong, cold and silent during hot summer. We s...

Highly Recommended. Mr. Yoom, the host, is very nice and helpful. His English is good which easy for communication. The room is clean and comfortable. Light breakfast is provided. It is close to the beach and only takes 8-10mins walk from the bus stop and convenient store. If you are going for hiking at Seolaksan Gungnip Gongwon, it's very good choice. Surprise that ...

A very pleasant experience! It is the best hotel we've ever stayed in South Korea. The host, Juha, can speak fluent English and is very willing to help - he even picked us up in the local bus terminal at dinner time when we arrived at Sokcho-si! Actually we had no idea about how to travel from Nami-Island from Sokcho-si and only made enquiry to Juha on the day when we ...

My boyfriend and I stayed here when we decided to get out of Seoul for a short time. It was a bit chilly at that time of year, and the room was warm, cozy, and exceptionally clean. It is right by the beach in Sokcho and is surrounded by many excellent food options. The owner is very helpful, and their cafe is great. I'd definitely stay here again.

Good reachable by bus from the Expressbusstation (1;1-1;7;7-1;9;9-1 1200Wpp) or Taxi (4200w). Best breakfast we had in guesthouses in Korea. Well equipped kitchen with stove and microwave. Rooms are not the newest but very warm in winter. Price compared with other accommodations in Sokcho is good. The staff is very friendly and helpful they provided us with good...

I was in Sokcho during Chuseok and this was a last minute booking. The place was great and the staff very helpful even with the language barrier but this is a hard place to get to without a car/taxi. I came back from hiking the Seoraksan and had to walk all the way to the hotel from where the bus dropped me off in town coz I couldn't find taxis that late. Once I go...

We enjoyed every much staying with Sokcho Esher Pension House. The room is very big with kitchen. The location is great where we could take only one bus ride to Seoraksan National park. Also walking distance to Express bus terminal. The best thing was that the pension owner recommended us for great local food which is just mins walk from the pension, it's so near to l...

The location is really good. It was nice to watch the Sunrise over the mountains from the balcony. It was really quiet and the bed was really comfortable. It is, however is an area with several abandoned properties and that gives the place a spooky vibe. Also, the check in is at the Hotel across the street - not necessarily a bad thing, but there is no one manning the ...

We came here at the time of super peak season in Korea. We got bumped off by a hotel we booked in another website because they were asking for a 40% price increase. Anyway, we booked here just 5 hours we came. This was so great for its price and seasonality. Probably, the location is a factor for that, however, if you have a car and would take taxis, that shouldn't be...

My friend and I decided to go this weekend, Oct 19-21. It was peak season for Tanpeung, leaves changing color. Thousands and thousands of visitors, mostly domestic, flooded Seoraksan National Park. We did everything on our list that we wanted to do, plus the Cheoksan Public Bath on the first night. The stay at Hyundai Soo Condominiums was good. It satisfied our needs...

The location would be difficult to find by yourself if you are unable to speak Korean, hence it would be better to get a taxi to the hotel first. The hotel does not provide Sokcho tourist map in English. However, just walk 5-10min up to Hotel Seorak Park and get a copy of English tourist map. The location is only less than half an hour walk to the Mt Seoraksan, and acc...

Very comfortable hotel, I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a time sightseeing in Sokcho. The Hotel is very easy to access by bus and really near form the Seoraksam park. One could prefer stay in hotel inside the park but this one is really fine!

The House Hostel is really a good place to stay in Sokcho. Near to the intercity bus terminal and local attractions such as Abai Village and the Central Market. We took bus from Seoul to Sokcho, this hostel is about 15 mins ride by bus from the inter-city bus terminal. Easy to find and good communication before we check-in. The hotel is named wrongly and there was no one at the hotel counter for almost 1.5 hours. I had to go to nearby hotel desk and ask for help who finally came and help me. The booking was not getting accepted but was given room finally. That experience was not good, but despite that I have rated better for other things keeping in mind my experience would have been a spe...

The Healim Resortel is an average hotel, but it is cheap so you do get value for what you paid for. I was lucky to be upgraded to a single room while I booked a bed in a dorm. However, the 'breakfast included' mention referred to a small bowl of cereals and a brick of milk stored in my room during my stay. Not the best for hikers, as you can imagine. Also, it was said ...

I arrived to find the hostel shut and locked up. It is an annexe of the Seongrim Guest House next door and with the help of another english speaking lodge operator I was able to get a bed at the guest house. Communication was not easy as this place is not set up for foreign tourists. The facilities are ok and the location near Seoraksan national park very good.

The place is exactly what we needed: a very comfortable bed, a very silent place, many usefull features (bathtub, fridge, drinking water, soaps, towels). Moreover, it was very clean and the staff very kind. Very important: the bus n. 7 takes you easily to both Sokcho city and the entrance to the Sorakchan Park. Highly recommended!

We got there late at night, the bus dropped us at wrong Resortel. The hotel staff picked us up from wrong place in his van. Then we were hungry, so he drove us to nearby restaurant. on the day we were leaving he woke up early and personally dropped us off at the bus station. Although he didn't speak English, he communicated with us through an app called Genietalk on...

Although this was a pension, we paid the same for motels in Seoul with better accommodation. The kitchenette was clean and so was the bedding and bathroom. My only complaint was that we were unable to use the balcony due to huge cobwebs that haven't been cleaned in ages. Otherwise a good one night only stay over.

Very comfortable hotel, I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a time sightseeing in Sokcho. The Hotel is very easy to access by bus and really near form the Seoraksam park. One could prefer stay in hotel inside the park but this one is really fine!

... when we arrived at the hotel, there were nobody at the reception. We have to wait for almost 45 minutes to see someone so it was a little bit frightening. We have the responsible on the phone and they make us move to another hotel (they have 3 hotels in Sokcho) and then everything was good. The responsible was a very nice people and helped us a lot.

Didn't stay at Sokcho-si long enough to give any proper comments. But do check out their local market for delicacies and Seoraksan for hiking.
At the mouth of Sokcho city just after passing through the Misiryeong Tunnel. There are some tourist attraction which are to good to skip.
It is a very nic e city near Seoraksan national park. The people are very friendly. The officer from the tourist information centre (Ms Choi) at intercity bus terminal is very helpful.
We can do hiking the Seorak Mountain, eating in many seafood markets, shopping in e-mart. We rented a car by using GPS so we can do many things otherwise we may take a bus or taxi but the taxi drivers are not communication by English.
Sokcho is very hard to get around, the only public transportation that is cheap is by bus, unless you are willing to spend cash for taxi or hire a car to drive around, you can't get around very much.
Quaint town with good shopping places as well as nice food. The Abai Village is a nice touristy spot.
There are a number of attractions .....Mt Seorak, lighthouse observatory, fish market, beach, Abai village, spa,
Its a relatively small town with relaxing atmosphere. There are sea and mountain for your choice of relaxation.
Sokcho initially comes across as a sleepy fishing town surrounded by mountains. This small city offers excellent sightseeing opportunities from the nearby beaches to the famous Mount Seoraksan.
it is a beach city and the two attraction for me is mt seorak and abai village. it is good to go for trekking and also seeing the history of Abai Village, fishing village.
Peaceful and nice city. We came to Sokcho city from Seoul by bus. The bus journey took us about 3 hours.
We travelled from spot to spot mostly by taxi, the transportation fee is quite big. But it is worth visiting the city
Nice and queit city compared to seoul. Seorakan national park is near and must visit one. We visited during fall and i think one of the best session to go there.
The City of Sokcho-si has plenty to offer. I only spent one night and next time I will try to spend two or three nights.
The main thing I would say about Sokcho is that it has the best seafood in Korea. The sushi and sashimi here is better than anywhere in Seoul or in Busan.
Beautiful city surrounded by breath taking mountains (Seoraksan National Park) It is amazing how easy is to reach the top of one of the mountains.
Sokcho-si is a beach resort and has plenty of seafood restaurants. The people were very friendly there.
Quiet city with beaches and mountains. About 2.5 hours from Seoul by bus. Beautiful scenery along the highway
(1)Visit the ABAI MAEUL VILLAGE----a historical place (2)Visit the DAEPO HARBOUR seafood harbour---various kinds of fresh seafood
Loved Sokcho, beautiful port, bridges and lights at night. Great markets with delicious market food. Hiking in Seroksan National Park is wonderful.
Further to the amazing So Rock San, Sokcho also has its nice environment and seaside. The local food is so good with fresh seafood.
it is a small city between mountains and sea - best location for some romantice time with people you love
Nice quiet area with a few nice beaches. Not the most exciting place in Korea so if you're looking for excitement, this is not the place for you.
a lot good restaurants and eatery places in Sokcho-si. food is not expensive. and it is a quiet city so you will enjoy to rest there.
I come to Sokcho for Seoraksan. But the Sokcho-si is also a nice place. The but line are simple: one way toward Seoraksan, the other way toward Sokcho-si.
Bus 7 goes around the town. walk to under the bridge to Abai Maeul (village) where there is the gaetje boat (you must help pull or the old grannies who live there will take it upon themselves to do so).
sokcho is relaxing and beautiful. it takes time to enjoy this place. i recommend visiting seoraksan and eating at daepo port.
Sokcho-si is reachable by bus from Dongseoul bus terminal (opposite Gangbyeon subway stn, line 2 / green line) and takes 2 hrs 15 mins.
