"location is perfect. Walking distance from the TRA and the intercity bus terminals. Bus stops going to different attractions in taichung like Fengjia and yizhong market are also walking distance from the hotel (one literally in front of the hotel). check-in and check out is a breeze since it is automated (first time I've tried it). Staff are friendly, can speak good English and always ready to assist you. room is small but enough for us. it is also very clean with complete toiletries. buffet breakfast is adequate for its price. some dishes are actually delicious. Overall, this is really a great hotel in taichung with value for money. will stay again here in our next visit to taichung. Thanks Chance."

"We would like thank the ever willing and helpful staff at the Twinstar Hotel in Taichung especially Mr. Ting Ju Ching, who took the extra effort to help us retrieve our handphone left behind in the train .With all the patience in the world, he spent more than 20 minutes on the phone to contact the train service from Chaiyi to Taichung. Within 45 minutes he confirmed our phone was found in Taicpei, and will be sent back to Taichung Railway Station the following morning. Our phone was sent back to the train station the next morning from Taipei to Taichung where we were staying overnight at the Twinstar Hotel. We are very grateful to Mr. Ting for, making our Taiwan trip a successful and a Happy one!!! My son left behind an expensive camera on ETS train from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. When we called back Immediately. Straight away the answer is NO. If only the People in Malaysia can learn to be as honest as people in Taiwan. Once again , Thank you very much Mr. Ting."

"I was attracted to Beacon Hotel in Agoda because of the location that is near Fengjia Night Market (it's one of the biggest night market in Taiwan!) I've also heard that the Taiwan celebrity Fanfan has stayed in this hotel before (which further convinced that this hotel could be really good). During the first time, boyfriend and I took a coach from Taoyuan Airport to Taichung Chao Ma bus stop which took about 2 hours plus (this will allow you to save some money from taking the HSR!). Beacon is nowhere to be seen from Chao Ma as it's about 20 minutes of walking distance. We still found our ways by asking for directions. But it's recommended to take a taxi to Beacon instead. Don't think it will cost much :) Tips for directions: it's very near Fengjia University as well :) Once you've located the University, it's easier to find Beacon. The hotel is located right beside Guang Nan outlet where they have almost everything ranging from IT stuff to books to stationeries. Very convenient to get your everyday items if you're at Beacon. The check-in is at the highest level instead of ground level. Supposing the check-in should be 3pm but despite reaching earlier, one of the staff member immediately informed us when the room was ready at 2.45pm. The advanced check-in service really leaves a good impression. Although the room may be small, it's very comfortable. The interior is modern and comfy. You'll find almost everything you need in the room. Bed is comfy. Breakfast cafe is cosy and comfortable! Food variety is not too bad. Although they have simple food like sausages and vege but it's all tasty. They have corn flakes as well. Fengjia Night Market is indeed 5 minutes walk away (or even quicker). Instead of travelling to further places, I decided to spend the two nights walking around Fengjia because it's SO NEAR! Good enough to spend the nights :) Food in Fengjia is generally AWESOME. Overall, I will DEFINITELY come back to this hotel. Excellent!"

"The interior design is modern and stunning. It is referred to as “elegant industrial.” I have stayed at some hotels designed as “industrial” with exposed pipes and other hardware and they felt cold and uninviting. This hotel is different. It retains a warm inviting feeling but encompasses many unique industrial design features. You will realize this is a modern hotel when you see the Nespresso coffee maker. I believe it is the first one I have seen in Taiwan. This as a boutique type hotel so you won’t have a doorman opening the door for you, but that door! An amazing piece of engineering. You will still have great service you expect from a Taiwan hotel. My stay included the buffet breakfast. It may have been lacking in quantity of items, but what I sampled was very good. Some items even showed a creative talent. I which there were more bakery items like croissants or western style cereal. They advertise a “lounge” on the second floor. It is not a lounge that serves drinks. It is only a sitting room with a jukebox that plays CDs. Overall, an amazing hotel that is a 10 minute walk from Taichung train station. At less than 100US for a Luxury room, this represented an excellent value or in the local culture, a great CP value. "

"Although it was just a night stay with Splendor Hotel, it was a great experience. One of the 5 stars hotel in Taichung and reasonable pricing. The room was huge with 2 queen beds and a sofa set. Wifi initial was poor, but with the receiver kind of thing being fixed up in the room, the wifi speed was good. Breakfast was good with a variety of wide spreading to choose from. Location was good as it was just opposite Sogo mall. Overall, I had a good experience with Splendor Hotel."
