Grand hotel with spacious room and beds”
Cleanliness is important to me and Crowne Plaza never fails. But just like all grand hotels are, there is no breakfast, no DIY laundry room and no free parking. That is not too much of a problem if you drive, as you can easily drive to mission valley to get food. The main reason we chose Crowne Plaza San Diego Mission Valley was that it provides a coach bus to the Sea World and that is helpful when you have young children. But remember to tip the driver.

Value for money”
My 3 nights stay at the hotel was good. the hotel have nice Japanese restaurant, and is near to fashion valley shopping mall, where you can find both international and local american labels. and is a short 5 mins drive to mission valley where you can find many restaurants and shopping outlet. The hotel is located next to the highway which makes driving in and out very easy.

Clean and great location, but...”
This hotel is clean, quite and have a nice location in San Diego. The hotel is old fashion, has a pool and a great staff. The things I didn't like about the hotel, was that we had to pay for parking, internet and breakfast. They have a free shuttle that can take you around and pick you up, that is great. So if you don't mind paying extra for some things, this hotel is great. Close to Fashion Valley and a golf court.

Requested room wasn't available”
Booked through Agoda for 2 nights & received the confirmation email for 2 queen size bed but when we got there, there was no room with 2 queen bed. Room had musty smell & carpet had many stains on. Bathroom was very small. Also refrigerator wasn't working on the first day. Our room wasn't cleaned when we came back to the hotel on 2nd night. Hotel staff were nice but I never expected these things at Crowne Plaza Hotel. Very disappointed.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
The hotel is very close to sea world. Room is very big. We have 2 small kids so we order 2 cribs. Even there are 2 cribs and 2 strollers in our room, the space is big enough for us to walk. The only problem is the noise of AC is a little bit big.

Oh San Diego!”
Great location! I used to live in Bonita and it’s only a twenty minute drive, that was the best part. The hotel is outdated, it needs a GOOD SOLID RENOVATION ; the elevators are super slow. The wall paper was coming down from the ceiling in the bathroom and the appliances were very rusty. Again apart of the renovation that needs done. The “shopping cafe” isn’t open at the guests convenience. Behind the microwave were pizza papers and napkins from previous guests. The carpet ohh the carpet. just disgusting ; bring slippers or house shoes don’t walk around in socks for god sake. Parking is SUPER CRAMPED! The pool area is nice, the beds ARE comfy and CLEAN, I can say that &housekeepers are super nice. Room service needs to make sure they are at right room SMH. I manage a hotel in Colorado in a resort community and I’ve never in my life paid 200+ a night and got such low quality room. Maybe they have executive suites? I’m not sure. But I probably won’t return until a renovation happens.

hotel with a great shuttle service”
hotel rooms are run down and smells. the only nice touch is the availabilty of shuttle services to surrounding areas such as old town, fashion valley, zoo and sea world. save heaps on walking around or hiring a taxi.

A good location with large and well equiped rooms”
The Hotel was good enough but we were very unlucky with the position of the room. It was on the ground floor at the back of the hotel in full shade with trees outside. For some odd reason it was freezing cold and the beds were freezing cold. We ended up leaving the heater on all the time but we never really liked the room. There was a courtyard with running water outside the door which was also dark and damp feeling. Ask for a sunny room that overlooks the pool.

Great but dated hotel, and disappointing response for stuck toilet bowl”
Hotel is clean but can see that the building is a little dated. Charges for parking, which is usually not included in package, so watch out for it. I had a little issue with breakfast as the hotel front desk claimed that I was entitled to 2 pax breakfast where I had registered for 4 adults to a room. They had kindly given me the benefit of the doubt and gave me the full entitlement. One issue I had was a stuck toilet bowl. Several calls (some face-to-face) with the front desk staff did not get anyone to see to the issue, although a security guard did come to see what was the matter. He offered a plunger but that did not materialise. In the end, I had to use the ice bucket to create the pressure needed to flush whatever that was blocking the toilet bowl and we did not need to relieve our bowels in the hotel lobby restrooms for 2 days. There is a well-equipped laundromat in the hotel for your washing, which is good. Wi-Fi is good and no need for access code.

nice comfortable hotel”
the hotel staffs were really friendly and helpful, the room is quite clean, but the bathroom was kind of small, the elevator is quite old, and the facility as well.

The Location was on spot. But the room is old smells old.But the bed was comfortable. Staff was nice ”
We froze in the room the first night we had them bring us more blankets. We did not know to work the Thermostat. Its was 50 in that room . But besides that our stay was good for what we needed. The rooms could use some remodeling.

Very old rooms, never been maintained, place is clean and good location but is not really a hotel because it really looks like a motel!!!

Grossly over-priced. Steer clear of this motel.”
Before I booked this hotel, I called to make sure they have facilities for babies. They assured me yes baby facilities were available, for free too. Sure enough, a crib (albeit a old fashioned metal bar type) was provided upon my request on arrival. The hotel room was very 70s but it was spacious. So far so good. And then it turned downhill from there. The list of facilities stated there would be a refrigerator. Yes there was cabinet space for the fridge. But no fridge. I later learned that you have to BOOK(!) the fridge. Yes I need a fridge when I travel with my baby. OK, I will just throw out the food my baby cannot finish in one go. Instead of putting it in the fridge and trying to feed him 30 minutes later. No big deal there. And then there is the problem of hot water (for making formula milk). When I asked, the guy stated the hotel had NO kettle. This guy also used a very condescending tone to tell me "You know, you COULD use the coffee maker to boil water, you know." I said I tried but the water still tasted like coffee after 10 boils. The coffee bits were still coming out of the machine after 15 boils. Exasperated, the guy told me to go to the restaurant to get hot water. The restaurant guy did give me hot water promptly but he gave me the look. The look that said hey you are using my service, where is the tip. But I did not bring money downstairs as I had not expected to purchase hot water for formula. More...
