It was a good place for a one night stay from the zoo . It’s very convenient to restaurants and happens to be right next to Little Italy perfect to walk around and has some convenient stores such as a 7/11 4min walk and the freeway is right next to it so easy to get in and out. The parking is first come first serve but there was a couple parking spaces available no need to park outside. It’s a little cramped but manageable to get out. It has some vending machines inside and the room was very clean we got the first floor so it was a little noisy since it’s right next to a busy street but with the a.c. on it’ll block it. But other then that nice place to stay and check out little Italy and the USS Midway Museum ,the pirate ship to in a good driving distance from the hotel . Recommend

They do charge you more when you get there, and a $100 deposit. But the deposit was refunded in like 2 days when some places take 2 weeks. Not much parking but there's always parking close by. Staff is great, everyone is chill and friendly. I had a package arrive later than expected and I was checked out but they kept an eye out for it and said they would call me when it came. No smoking rooms or around the building which sucks because there's no where to sit near there and walking too far at night isn't a great idea. There are homeless around but every interaction I had was pleasant, I even gave a blanket, clothing, and bought food for a few of them. I love the area. And the hotel is nice and clean!

Actually, it's not a harbor view in the room. However you can see a harbor in 1minute walk. In addition, little italy is so hot place which has many famous restaurant. So this road is very safety and it is good for guest who is not using own car like me :) The room is clean even though some towel look so old. It doesn't matter!

Absolute Bang for your Buck”
5 stars. Clean rooms , simple and cute Motel at the heart of San Diego's tourist location. A mile from Bulboa park, middle of Little Italy. There is about 20 parking spots but we did not have any issues competing for it. You just cannot beat the value for its price. I am staying at the same motel every time i visit san diego now.

I had read some of the reviews and to be honest I was quite scared to even consider this place BUT I went there and asked to see a room and was blown away! IT WAS CLEAN!!! So I booked it! Definitely NO bedbugs or roaches like some people had said! My room did have a microwave AND fridge! The man at the front desk was ridiculously accommodating and even allowed me to check in a bit early! Yes it's an older building and located in Downtown San Diego so it will be noisy and the people are a bit colorful. Parking can be a bit of a pain because it's first come first serve. I definitely recommend this place, the price was lower than any other hotel in downtown and had everything I needed.

The walls are very thin so conversations and snoring can be heard from adjoining rooms. This is a luck of the draw situation that might not effect every room.

Furniture is in shabby condition, bathroom towel bar and toilet paper holder damaged, Heat and air works. Street noise very loud into the early morning hours. Mattress and sheets clean.

This is a no frills hotel, without air conditioning, but adequate accommodations for a night or two in San Diego. Harborview is a misnomer. as the only harbor view you get is the on standing outside of the front of the hotel and looking down the hill. None of the rooms have a view of the harbor.

Used to be a pretty decent place to stay at price was good and deposit was fait now it's outrageous and wasn't informed of the major increase for the deposit. However the girl at the front desk was verrry helpful and professional also had a lot of patience dealing with my situation. However rooms are always clean and actually look like it.

The rooms are clean. I'll give this hotel that. In fact, I was impressed with their cleanliness. The neighborhood is a run down part of San Diego and the hotel is also run down. My biggest complaint is that, in order to speak to the staff, you needed to go out on the street and try to understand them through a plexiglass barrier with a small hole cut in the bottom with traffic noise right behind. For me, impossible. I tried to get a hard copy receipt, but was told by the the clerk that he couldn't give me one, but that I would get a final bill in email. (I think that's what he said!). Still nothing in my email. Another clerk, who was perfectly pleasant and tried to help, was unintelligible to me because of her accent. I just gave up. I was impressed at the cleanliness of the room, though the rooms are very basic. If you can't another hotel at all, then this place is an option. I was in town for a memorial service and I should have stayed at the hotel most of the other attendees were at, but I was trying to save money. Mistake on my part.

Noisy place”
They were bringing guests in all night long who were extremely noisy. Called the front desk & he didn't do much to stop the noise. A fire escape door was not secure & homeless people were coming in & out all night long. There was people smoking in the hallways & homeless hanging out on steps to the entrances. Will never book there again.
