Recent Stay - Staff Issues, Room Issues, etc.”
I was very looking forward to my stay here at the Hilton OC/Costa Mesa! I was here a while back after volunteering and just absolutely loved it. When I first checked in, there was a staff member (I cannot remember his name) who was absolutely rude, not welcoming, and just made it unpleasant to ask questions at the front desk. When I found out parking was a whopping $36 for 24-hours (which I was there not even 24-hours) I was pretty shocked, and I saw it on some guests faces too. I'll get to that later. So I come into the hallway, and the first thing we smelled was weed! It was absolutely horrible to smell and what made it worse was that when we walked in, we could smell it. I informed the same staff member, and he told me that someone would come up and fix the issue. No one did the entire stay. So everytime we'd leave the room, it would smell horribly of weed and that was the worst part. The beds were super comfortable however. But the bathroom needed a bit more cleaning, especially in the shower as there was grunge and the shower curtains were dirty. I told the staff the next day and they did comp me my parking and did offer breakfast/coffee (by the way, I do not recommend their Starbucks. The coffee was not good at all!) and we just took the free parking as we had to get going. Overall, the stay was alright. The staff the next day were genuinely very friendly and accommodating compared to when I first arrived. The pool was incredible, the beds were very comfortable, room was spacious. I did like the stay, but I think the issues that need to be fixed is the attitude of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel (especially the rooms and during the evening around the whole hotel) and the parking price. While I did appreciate being comped for the ridiculous $36 price, it is just way too overpriced for not even 24-hours in the room.
