Very good
The staff is very firm on 3:00pm check in; I got there at 2:58. While they do have luggage storage for you prior to check in, there are no early checkins at all. The place was nice and quiet. The room is not clean. There are fabric areas on both sides of the bed and they are VERY dirty. The floors in the showers look like they need a deep clean. The walls are paper thin. Even booking a single room I can hear everything in the rooms next to me and in the hallways where girls are sleeping in the bunks. If you are a light sleeper, this may not work for you or at least you should book a room itself. The storage lockers for the bunkbeds would not be big enough for a rolling tote - even carry on size. Be mindful if you have valuables or plan to do a lot of shopping. A room would be better. Internet works great. No issues there. I paid A LOT more than average for my booking... I would book at least a few days in advance. And the more days you book, the better the rate.
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry about the cleanliness and noise issues. Your comments are shared with our team for improvement. We’re glad you liked the quiet environment and Wi-Fi, and we hope to welcome you again. Hotel+Hostel Tokyo Kawasaki

This was the best capsule hotel I have stayed at so far. - The staff was quick and courteous in their responses. On the day of my stay, when I informed them that I might be late for check-in, I received a prompt reply, which reassured me. The check-in guidance was also very thorough. - The lobby is spacious, making it easy to bring in food. - I was able to book a single room (about 3 tatami mats), which was very convenient as it provided a private space. - There were an adequate number of toilets, sinks, and shower rooms. The shower room, in particular, was somewhat spacious and easy to use. - I didn't notice any hair or garbage in the sinks or shower rooms, which might be attributed to good cleaning schedules or the manners of the guests. - The cost performance was excellent. As for specific requests: - It would be nice to have a light switch by the bedside, so I don't have to use my phone's light to return after turning off the main lights. - I noticed several stains, presumably from cosmetics, on the mat and wall near the mirror in the room, which concerned me a bit. - It would have been even more convenient if there was a place to put shampoo, etc., at an appropriate height in the shower room. - All amenities, including towels and slippers, are paid.

Very quickly, you realized why some places only accept Japanese-speaking guests. Although some see this as "discrimination" - it makes practical sense. People who are Japanese or speak Japanese understand the culture and standards of cleanliness & how to behave. When the guests were mostly Japanese, bathrooms were clean, dry. Spaces were peaceful and useable. I was at this hostel for 9 days. When some foreigners arrived, sinks started getting so wet, bathrooms got dirtier (and even floor got stickier, yuck), furniture in the lounge started getting moved around without replaced. Someone even did yoga there, unaware of the unease he was causing with sweat smells. Some loudly complained why there are no cooking facilities - because, that's the way it is. Smells, cleanliness etc. Japan is a culture where you are considerate of others, you blend in to the environment. Some foreigners, think nothing of convenience only for themselves, easily changing their surroundings to suit themselves with little thought for others. Capsules have virtually zero sound-proofing, so not the place for you if you're a light sleeper & there's someone inconsiderately making a lot of noise. Towels are available for daily rent at ¥100 daily.

“First in Kawasaki”
Having traveled extensively and stayed in numerous hostels, I can confidently say that Hotel+Hostel Kawasaki stands out as the best I've encountered so far. From the moment I stepped in, it was clear this place perfectly blends the social, budget-friendly aspects of a hostel with the comfort and quality of a hotel. What Makes it the Best: Impeccable Cleanliness and Comfort: This is often a gamble with hostels, but Hotel+Hostel Kawasaki truly excels. The dorms, shared bathrooms, and common areas were consistently spotless. My bunk bed felt incredibly private and comfortable, thanks to thick curtains, a personal reading light, and power outlets. The bedding was plush, a huge plus, and the mattresses were surprisingly comfortable for a hostel. Even during busy times, the showers and toilets were readily available and well-maintained. Thoughtful Design and Privacy: The bunk beds are designed with privacy in mind, offering individual curtains that truly block out light and sound. This was a game-changer for getting restful sleep. They also offer female-only floors and rooms, which is a great option for solo female travelers seeking extra comfort and security. For those seeking more privacy, their "compact" and "standard" private rooms offer a great balance between hostel vibe and hotel amenities, often including private bathrooms. Fantastic Facilities & Amenities: They've truly thought of everything. The spacious common lounge area is a highlight, providing a comfortable space to relax, work, or socialize. The lower-level manga lounge is a unique and fun touch. Laundry facilities are a huge convenience, and having vending machines and a shared microwave readily available makes life on the road much easier. Free Wi-Fi throughout the property was consistently strong and reliable. The fact they provide free toiletries in the shared bathrooms is also a nice touch. Excellent Location and Accessibility: Located within a short walk of Kawasaki Station (both JR and Keikyu lines), it's incredibly convenient for exploring Tokyo and Yokohama. There are tons of restaurants, convenience stores (7-Eleven, Family Mart), and shops right outside the door, making it easy to grab a quick bite or any necessities. While some mention it's a bit of a walk from Keikyu-Kawasaki if you have heavy luggage, the overall accessibility to major transportation hubs is a definite win. Friendly and Helpful Staff: The staff consistently received high praise in reviews, and my experience was no different. They were welcoming, efficient, and always ready to assist with any questions or needs, even for late check-ins. Their presence contributes to the overall welcoming and safe atmosphere. Incredible Value for Money: Given the level of comfort, cleanliness, and amenities, Hotel+Hostel Kawasaki offers exceptional value, especially considering its location with easy access to major cities like Tokyo. It provides a budget-friendly option without sacrificing quality. While some might mention the thinner mattresses in some dorms or the occasional dust in ventilation outlets (minor points in my experience), these are far outweighed by the overwhelmingly positive aspects. Overall, Hotel+Hostel Kawasaki genuinely exceeded my expectations for a hostel. It provides a comfortable, clean, and well-equipped base for travelers, fostering a friendly environment while ensuring individual privacy. For anyone looking for a top-notch hostel experience in Japan, this is the place to be! I would absolutely stay here again.
