First time staying here and it was an amazing hotel. The staff are fantastic and very friendly and always smiling. This is a c joke blocks from China town and across the street from the park where the Fundamental Robot is and next to the Marine Tower. Is is a nice walk to the Freddy’s wheel and red brick warehouse. The room was big and very clean. The WiFi was strong and the bed was really comfortable. There is nothing bad I can say about this place. This is truly a five star hotel with less than five star prices. The hotel is somewhat close to the cruise port and a quick taxi will get you there. You can’t go wrong with this hotel.
I am reticent to say the Japanese breakfast is GREAT because I do not want to discover it over run on our next visit but it is too good to be so selfish. The food is classic Japanese & very delicious, staff top notch & the view of the garden wonderful. 10/10 The only suggestion I could offer is to have a little more to offer in the self serve drinks. Also , as I have seen in many places & wondered why but now I know , a basic dress code seems necessary. In such a beautiful place where the service staff dress in crisp , clean classic black & white formal wear & most patron neatly dress, we were seated next to a socially fragile, overly muscular , bodybuilder who seemed to make far too many trips to the drink bar so all could notice his Golds gym black singlet & track pants. In such a beautiful restaurant it just spoilt the atmosphere.
Just before arrival, caught in a sudden rain, I was a bit flustered at the entrance. However, thanks to the doorman’s casual conversation, I was smoothly attended from the entrance to the front desk, checked in, and guided to my room in the old building by the staff. Exploring the hotel, I went up to the second floor via the famous grand staircase and found myself in the lobby of the old building. I was captivated by the mysterious and beautiful lobby that changes its atmosphere depending on the weather and time of day, and I found myself passing through the lobby numerous times. After taking a stroll in Yamashita Park, which looked lovely after the rain, and having a meal in Chinatown, I resolved to go to Sea Guardian II. Since I was wearing a kimono, I was escorted to a spacious sofa seat in the back, where the staff remarked, “It’s a full moon today, so you are wearing a moon-themed obi, aren’t you? It’s lovely.” I was very happy they noticed that. Unfortunately, I couldn’t have any alcohol, but I enjoyed a platter of Yokohama and pickles. When I asked for a cocktail related to the full moon for my second drink, they brought me a cocktail arranged to be pink, saying, “Tonight is the Strawberry Moon, so I have adapted the Blue Moon cocktail to this color.” It was very delicious, and I spent a luxurious moment that filled my heart. When I asked a staff member at the cloakroom to take a photo of me on the grand staircase, they kindly agreed, and I was glad I had the courage to ask and capture a commemorative photo. The next day, I woke up early and took a walk in Yamashita Park in the morning. For breakfast, I enjoyed a Monte Cristo sandwich with the best view at Le Normandie. My seat wasn't right by the window, but it was a table where I could feel the panoramic scenery all around. The view can be enjoyed from any seat. I also appreciated the wonderful consideration of the hall staff, which allowed me to indulge in a leisurely morning. During checkout, they asked, “Did you have a relaxing time?” I replied, “Yes, very much. I was looking forward to my stay.” They then said, “That’s the most important thing. If you have plans afterward, we can hold your luggage for you. What would you like to do?” So, taking their kind offer, I left my luggage and headed to Sankeien Garden. During my stay, it felt like a pleasant time was flowing in everything. I would love to return to this wonderful hotel that shows me a world beyond my dreams.
Loved this hotel, its service at the restaurant, the view and the spaciousness of the room where 3 of us stayed. The hotel room is clean though the wash sink doesn't come with a door and anyone using it in the middle of the night will disrupt light sleepers. Conveniently located opposite Chinatown and Yamashita Park and the motomachi subway station is the starting station for some of the nearby day trips to other cities. Has a pokemon porthole at the Yokohama Tower 5-7 mins walk away - for the pokemon fans out there! :)
