"The Inn by the Seal is in a great location in La Jolla, within easy walking distance of great restaurants, bars, galleries, and some beaches. It was our first time in La Jolla and we were impressed. The hotel is clean and well-organized. It is a mid-priced hotel, so keeping your expectations at that level for finishes and such, it is very good. The only thing I'd note is that it can be a bit noisier than other places as you can easily hear people in other rooms nearby and even outside. (If you are a light sleeper, take that into account.) Overall, I would stay there again and I thought it was a very good value for the price as compared to other options nearby."

"From the moment I arrived at valet everyone was welcoming and very hospitable. The front desk agent Justice was very friendly. I had the upgrade to the club access which had a nice selection throughout the stay. Walking around the property I was greeted by my last name more than one time which was very nice. I would 100% recommend this property to others and I do look forward to my next stay there. "

"The stay at the Hilton La Jolla Torry Pines was very nice. The only issue I had was being charged $25 a night to park my car in the hotel parking lot. I feel this is an unneeded expense as this is a very secluded hotel with a multi-story parking lot specifically only serving the hotel guest. This in not a urban area where others would park in the lot so to charge is simply a "nickle and dime" approach to make a few extra dollars from their guest, who most-likely will be driving a car. The parking fee is completely inappropriate. "

"We had a wine tasting experience at Temecula so we decided to stay overnight at San Diego to visit the Old Town the next day. We chose Empress Hotel because its walkability to the restaurants shops etc (as opposed to if we chose to stay downtown Gaslamp). The hotel had everything we need. We got a spot right in front of the hotel (free street parking til the next day). We feel welcomed with the warm and clean room. Shower pressure and temperature was always stable, i had a long shower that night. Wifi connection was good. We walked to dinner and wander around La Jolla neighborhood until late at midnight. Breakfast spread was enough though my husband would have loved if we could request for an omelette instead of just boiled eggs served. Check in and check out process was fast. There's a restaurant with a bar beside the lobby that looks inviting though we didn't try it. Overall feels like a 4star experience "

"I know it's USA and hotel prices are in average much higher compared to other countries but the value for money is disappointing. Positiv: The hotel has a nice courtyard and staff is friendly, the food quite good. Negative: The rooms smell of chlorine and definitely need renovation as well as noice protection from the neighbour rooms. But what really annoyed me was the daily self parking rate of USD 32.- - absolutely ridiculous. On top you have to pay a daily USD 30.- city tax plus some addition room tax which they didn't tell me at the booking. All in all not a place were I would book again."

"We arrived an hour early before check in and was greeted by a friendly front desk staff member who was very accommodating. Our room was ready in no time, in the main tower and had a beautiful ocean view. La V is situated across the street from a beach park, so after dinner, we walked across the street and watched the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. If that were not enough, there was a double rainbow dawning in the opposite direction. It was the most beautiful experience I have had in a long time. Being from the desert, the coast and the beautiful ocean sound, smell, and sights were just what the doctor ordered. I will remember La V for future ocean get-a-ways! "
