"We looked at the Best Western, but decided on The Kings Inn for 4 reasons: 1. Literally half the cost $400 vs. $800 2. Free parking -other places charge anywhere from $15 to $20 per day! 3. Great reviews/ recently remodeled 4. No daily service fee/room fee/hidden fee as many of the other places we looked at did. Highlights: 1. It was clean. Our room was cleaned every day by the time we returned. No mildew smell like some older hotels. 2. The staff was friendly and helpful. At check in the woman suggested places to eat and even provided coupons. 3. I used the jacuzzi every night - Very relaxing. The heated pool and jacuzzi are open every night till 10PM. I like to go when it's quiet with no kids, so this was perfect. 4. There was a refrigerator in the room with plenty of room for drinks and leftovers. There was even a bottle opener attached to the underside of the bathroom sink - super convenient. 5. The waffle house attached serves amazing breakfast!"

"Cleanliness is important to me and Crowne Plaza never fails. But just like all grand hotels are, there is no breakfast, no DIY laundry room and no free parking. That is not too much of a problem if you drive, as you can easily drive to mission valley to get food. The main reason we chose Crowne Plaza San Diego Mission Valley was that it provides a coach bus to the Sea World and that is helpful when you have young children. But remember to tip the driver."

"This was my second year staying 5 days just minutes from my son's home. The setting and landscaping of the property rivals a Hawaiian resort! This is overall a 3-4 star motel. The rooms are not posh, but very clean, well-maintained, and include most amenities of luxury hotels. The swimming pool and hot tub are also clean and we'll maintained. All staff are very friendly and helpful. All the food we've had at the cafe has been delicious and generous portions. The laundry and vending areas are spotless. There has never been a problem with noise or rowdy guests. You won't find a better value for the very affordable price, and I'm a low-income senior"

"The Atwood is probably great for the location being in the hotel circle area. We were apparently the last to check in hence we had the room on the 2nd floor and there are no elevators/lifts. We had to carry our luggage up a really long flight of steps which was a real chore. I also had to carry my daughter up and down the stairs. The staff was not too friendly and said that I should guve specific instructions if I had wanted the first level but honestly it is my first ever visit to san diego just for the sake of brining my daughter to sea world so what was I to know what to expect? Traveling with a young kid is really quite challenging, and we did not exactly pay budget price for Atwood but honestly it is mor of a no frills motel. We needed hot water for my baby girl and there was none to offer. There was no amenities which for about the same price or a little more, I think I should have just booked something better even for a lit’ more. Glad we only stayed one nite"

"The location of the hotel is rather far from anywhere else so its necessary to drive to stay at this hotel. The nearest shopping mall is Fashion Valley and the trolley is 10 min away by bus; however we never did succeed in getting the bus - it doesnt seem to follow the bus schedule! The rooms are nice, cozy and has free internet. We ordered pizza delivery the first night and has no problem. However, there's only 1 restaurant within walking distance so we usually have our meals before returning to the hotel. Hotel provides free breakfast and coffee at the lobby all day long. Breakfast is simple - bagels, danish, eggs, toast and waffle. Variety of juices and hot drinks are available as well. The downside is that the breakfast is identical everyday, so after 3 days of it, we had enough. There's also a pool, since it was winter, we didnt venture into it but I'm guessing it should be heated since there were a few families playing in the pool. Housekeeping is generous with towels and there's in-room coffee-maker as well. Bring ur own water as hotel do not provide. Overall, good place to stay if u have a car. "

"Stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. It was cheaper than some of the other hotels in the area. Room was clean and neat, everything in good order. Bed was comfortable, nothing to complain about. Wifi was easy to use and relatively fast. Hotel doesn't provide complimentary bottled water, but they give away a free metal bottle for you to fill up water from the fresh water dispenser on each floor. Hotel restaurant seemed quite limited in its selection, so I opted not to eat at the restaurant."
