Nice little inn, worth the money spent (with discounts)”
I stayed about 8 nights in two separate rooms. The studios are pretty nice but also keep in mind this is not a luxury hotel. It did not have a smart tv but they do have cable. The double doors are glass and the locks are pretty flimsy but the site is pretty safe. They don’t have central heating but the wall units are able to keep the rooms comfortable. The only minor inconvenience is that there’s no housekeeping during your stay unless you specifically ask, and even then it’s not full service. I was able to spend time in a suite also and those are definitely worth the stay. If you’re looking to stay at an inn to experience typical San Diego living then this is certainly the best place to stay. Lovely views, access to the beach, dog friendly (they have a dog wash), friendly staff, close to night life and parks.

Perfect for pup-parents”
If you are looking for dog friendly hotels, this is absolutely the way to go. The room was clean and a decent size, which was very welcoming. The dog beach was a quick walk away (not even 5 minutes). We always travel with the pups in mind, and usually look at a motel 6...never again! We have found our hotel for San Diego visits.

Beach side ”
My family was looking for a place close to the beach and seaworld.. Found ocean villa inn. It was the perfect place 5 min drive to seaworld. Less the 10 min to Baltimore ocean big dipper rides and 5 min wal to the beach.. Place is clean and staff service was great. They made all the effort to help us stay another day. Kids did not want to leave the beach..

Dog Lover's Paradise”
I traveled with my 9.5 year old and our dog. This place is super cool for people with dogs and kids. It's not a luxury hotel so don't go in expecting that. The place is clean but minimal- which is perfect when you have a dog and kid. No worrying about things breaking or getting chewed on. Expect other dogs to be on your patio if you choose a room downstairs and expect to hear some loud thumps from upstairs if you are below someone with kids. Expect dogs to bark and expect friendly people. This is right on the beach but there is a lot of sand before getting to the water. This whole city loves dogs and it's got a unique style. There is a cool little strip of restaurants that are dog friendly. I can't wait to go back after COVID to be able to swim in the pool and do more out here. My son called it his paradise. We will be back.

In love with San Diego!”
Wonderful hotel! Even though I didn't bring my own dogs it was a wonderful hotel and a great area to be. I was able to walk to numerous places to eat and have a drink. Rent bikes for a couple of days to go further out. It was the best trip so far!

The facility is clean and quite onvenient from food to other parks to stores especially thr Beach. The staff is very kind, helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay at Ocean Villa Inn again.

Dog place”
It's great place but if you have dog allergies, beware. I loved this place and the location. I'm for sure coming back. I stayed in the King bed Ocean View. Every morning drank coffee in the balcony.

Best Pet Friendly hotel close to dog beach”
LOVE this place to stay with our dogs. Slider opens to a dog run with seating for the humans! 5 mins walk from the dog beach. Excellent set up for people with dogs. very clean rooms. Friendly staff.

Exceptional”
I was pleasantly surprised when arriving at Ocean Villa. The location is great and the balcony is definitely a plus. The room was clean and I love that it is dog friendly. I didn't bring the dogs this time but maybe another trip. There was no annoying barking or other issues. I will definitely stay here again.

Good experience”
Nice little Inn to stay with Dogs close to a good beach that has a dog free area. Accommodations are dated but the location, facilities and nice staff makes up for it. we stayed for 3 Nights with our 8 months old Lab in a park facing room and we enjoyed our stay. Our lab loved the beach and free time in the enclosed green space on the backyard. We used the dog bath facilities twice and found it stocked with clean towels and shampoo. Main Ocean beach dinning area with good options is a short walk from the hotel. A decent coffee house and 7-11 is at short 5 mins walk Overall we had a good and relaxing experience. We will definitely visit again next summers.

Great Location”
If you love traveling with your pet, this is the ideal place to stay. The dog beach offers plenty of opportunities for socialized pups. There is a great walking/jogging/bicycling path for those who want to exercise. The sunsets were ideal though off to the left. Bay view rooms would not be able to see the sunset from the balcony. The Ocean View room has a balcony and views of the bay and ocean off to the left. We had a great deal on the rooms. I don't know if the value is worth full price. It was close to many restaurants. All within walking distance. I would have given it 5 stars, but the room had a touch of mold, that effected my breathing. Otherwise it was clean and the staff went out of their way to meet our needs.

Great Place ”
We got a suite and piled in with 3 little kids. Staff were really helpful with extra towels and coffee!! There was a big fridge and freezer and plenty of storage for breakfast cereals and treats. Take your own cutlery and crockery if you are going to eat in. Cooking is by a small microwave only. The inside kitchen table is a little small but the balcony has a large table when it warms up. Great access to the beach for kids / dogs / surfing and a surprisingly warm pool back at the hotel.

Location and Pet friendly”
The best part of this hotel is location and that it is pet friendly! It is only a few yards from the ocean and the bay....and it's also the dog beach. Most rooms have a doggie run/ yard right outside each rooms slider so your pet can have access without going out if needed. They also have an area with tubs and towels just for your doggie to rinse off after a day at the beach. It is walking distance to several restaurants and quaint shops. The rooms are comfortable and clean not glamorous..but adequate. We go every year to have fun in the sun with our doggie!

Ocean Villa Inn is a must “stay” if you have fur babies. Dog Beach is, literally, your backyard. The rooms are spacious and functional. I stayed in a pet friendly room with 2 queen beds which reminds me of a spacious studio apartment. It’s also near a lot of local eateries and specialty stores. I would def stay here again.

Doggie Weekend Getaway”
This place was exactly what I was looking for. Dog run outside the room. Look out to the beach. Wash area to get the sand off of the dogs both big and small. Walking distance to restaurants. I will be back.
