Beautifully maintained grounds. And also great views over the Hualien mountains. Nice breakfast (tip, ask for a table upstairs if downstairs is a little crowded. Not everyone realises that the restaurant has a 2nd floor). Relaxing despite very high occupancy. Great location to experience the scenary around Hualien. However, not close to the city center if that it a priority.

Pros: The rooms were nice and spacious, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pools were fun and the lifeguards were very diligent in doing their jobs. My young daughter enjoyedswimming, the free boat rides along the lagoon and watching the fish. There is also an indoor playroom for the kids to escape the outside heat. Neutral: the buffet food is mediocre and it's really the only choice for food. It wasn't bad though so I wouldn't call it a con. Cons: All other advertised facilities were dated or not well-maintained. The lakeside bar looks thrown together haphazardly just to say they have a bar. The activities are not well planned. All in all, it's OK for a one night stay if you have young children. But it is in no way a 5-star resort.

5-Taiwan Star Hotel ”
Yes, 5-Star Hotel for Taiwan, but for the International Level overrated. Stuff in Taiwan is not really trained, like in hotels ior example in Europe. First room was dirty with hair from previous guests in bathroom, but they were fast in transferring us to another room, which was a bit better. Again, this is Taiwan. Originally wanted to go to Bali. 5-Stars there are well deserved.

The worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. Lots of facilities are broken, hot water shortage during bathing, bad smell in the room...etc. Never come back again.

Excellent resort”
we arrived about 4 o'clock at the local train station. they arranged pick-up right away. the check-in was quick and all servants presented with smile. the accountant at the chinese restaurant gave very good advise on menu for 2 people. that was really good because sometimes you don't know how big the dish is. we took the canal tour at the last time with fairly good service. the room is terrific. all in all, i was happy with staying with the promisedland resort. btw, the breakfast was very good.

warm & Lovely hotel”
It's defiantly the best resort/hotel for families to stay in Hualien! I booked a Loft room at this hotel while we can see lagoon from the balcony and smell the spring's coming. This resort is in a good location where is not far from most attractions by driving... It's recommended to have massage after the day out in a responsible price!

We had a nice overnight stay here. We were the only western tourists at that time, which was very relaxing. You get a voucher for a short boat trip through the resort. That was quite nice. The resort is quite remote, so you can't walk to other restaurants/towns, but you don't strictly need to. Food was great here. There is also entertainment on the evening. Hotel offers free shuttle bus to Hualien train station.

Perfect Getaway for couple”
Please note that it is a resort, not a typical hotel. The price may be a little steep but you are actually paying for quite a number of free attractions to enjoy! The room is very luxurious and huge! The resort is also very big, thus they provide a mini shuttle (those used for golfing) to get you around! You can access these shuttle simply by talking to any of the staff. The resort is a little far from the city area but the resort is near a few attraction sites you can visit. I suggest staying here for 2 to 3 nights will be great!

Fun, fun, fun!!!”
stayed at promisedland resort during our recent "road trip" in taiwan. though the resort seems a bit 'plopped out of nowhere', there's lots to do on the grounds and no need to leave the premises at all! my baby was a bit too young (only 10 months), but can't wait to go back when he is a bit older so he can take advantage of all the fun activities (and there are lots!): boat rides, swimming pools/slides, jungle gyms, canoeing, etc. etc. the rooms are a bit ho-hum (nothing special), but they are quite clean. the resort is definitely showing its age, but again, this didn't bother me. the breakfast buffet wasn't fabulous but wasn't too bad. all in all, a very fun place and one i wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends/family.

a relaxing break ”
We went to this resort to get away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives, we wanted to relax and do very little so this suited us fine. However there are lots of things to if you are more active than us. The staff were very happy and friendly and they were so eager to help if we had any enquiries. Most spoke very good english and those that didnt were keen to get someone else to help as quickly as they could. If we didnt show for breakfast because we were sleeping they called to ask if we were ok, and sent fruit and chinese tea for us so that we were not hungry. We went on a half day tour that picked us up and dropped us off at the resort which was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is a free boat ride around the resort which runs all day, definitely worth a ride.
