STAFF hospitality is appreciable , we visited SHRI JAGANNATH PURI just a month after the typhoon in ODISHA , after such a disaster , the hotel and people of puri are fighting back to life and we can support only support them by staying there and by not expecting the services 100% to the mark.... but still I would like to highlight that they tried there level best to accommodate us . Few customers never wanted to understand the limits but were up on there voice to the slow service at dining hall which was 95% packed at the peak hours. I should especially mention that each and every staff at the hotel was good and well behaved. We spent good time sitting with them exchanging our views on India and told them many things about Singapore , FIVE STAR to the hotel , STAFF and SERVICES … Keep it up ODISHA , we love you

We stayed here for two nights. The Mayfair at Gopalpur is an awesome property with all amenities that one may wish for. A splendid pool, awesome pirate ship play area for young children, board games, table tennis and pool for bigger ones, a beautiful lounge with a great library of books and DVDs, and beach next door. The rooms were very large and had a beautiful sit-out area with lovely view of sea. A sunrise point within the hotel was quite interesting. The house keeping staff was friendly and genuinely helpful. The manager Mr Saroj Solomon was very helpful and friendly person as well. For us, the high point were the kind ladies in the restaurant who offered to hold our 3m old baby so we could enjoy our meals. Thanks!! We appreciate your hospitality.

This hotel is different to the other high rise hotels in the city. It is set around a peaceful little lake with fountains. The executive cottage style rooms have views of the lake and are very comfortable with large rooms with soft beds and modern bathrooms with a bath as well as a shower. Each room has an outside balcony overlooking the lake. The decor is tasteful but are arranged in an hotch-potch manner with the European, Indian, Thai, Indonesian, Buddhist, Hindu artefacts and paintings all jumbled together rather than arranged in similar groups. There is a jogging track, interesting swimming pool, well-equipped gym, spa, 4 restaurants, tennis courts and entertainment areas for weddings and special events. The in room service is good and tasty. I would have given it a top score except for the following. The A/C are electricity frequently was interrupted due to power cuts and the generator switchover was not seamless resulting in 5-10 minutes of complete darkness at night which is disconcerting if you are on the bathroom at night. There are numerous hotel staff and at times their presence is intrusive and guests feel uncomfortable as if they are being scrutinised. All over the world hotel rooms are generally charged at double occupancy rates but in this hotel it is an extra charge! None the less this hotel is probably the best in Bhubaneswar.

the hotel is beautifully situated on the beach. grounds and facilities are immaculate. staff are very helpful and generous with their time. priya at front desk was lovely and helped see to our needs. heritage tours on site was also great in arranging transport and tours. massage was lovely. 2 states food very good although a bit expensive. breakfast buffet extensive and food okay but didnt know at first you could order eggs, pancake, dosa etc from kitchen which were great. coffee could have been hotter and wish had coffee options. need to be proactive to get help from breakfast staff with special orders. pool are pristine and relaxing. highly recommend for a few days of total r&r.

We had booked their so called "Deluxe " room after visiting their website. It was a profound disappointment.. more like a room in a non-descript lodge and not worth even half of the tariff. To make matters worse, the overall ambience of the building where this was located was like a construction site. We made our sense of being taken for a ride quite clear to the front office manager. I give him full marks for his responsiveness. The next day we were allotted a villa which was every bit as good as the website showed and the ambience was also lovely. We did feel that we got our money's worth,after paying the extra charges. So all in all a mixed experience. The staff was very helpful and warm.The restaurant food quality was good , though the menu is limited. The private beach is not at the resort's doorstep as you are led to believe, but about 2.5 km away, but they transport you there,and it is indeed a pristine beach in the middle of a wildlife sanctuary, with Casurina trees as the backdrop. A word of caution.. when you book make sure you do not get misled about the type of room,and the difference in tariff is ridiculously small,between their so called "rooms" and cottages though the difference in facilities and ambience is huge.

i got an exellent rate from agoda.com (half off),so the quality of the hotel and it's amenities were beyond my expectations! it's really a good value for the price you pay. the last 1 km of the road to the hotel is in a pretty bad shape and due to this taxis charge a lot of money for the 7km ride from/to the station (rs.300 - non-ac amby) but due to this isolated location, the beach is almost empty - giving you a private beach feel. the rooms are nice with wooden floors, two huge king beds with plush mattresses. the huge glass windows offer a ocean view beyond the pool and nicely landscaped gardens. the bathroom is very nice too - dry type with a large glass partition for the shower area. there's even a glass window (with a retractible blind) between the shower area and the room ! for persons who want to enjoy ocean views even when in the shower i guess ! there is a rickety looking bridge over a shallow lagoon leading upto the beach, where a river meets the ocean. the bridge is much more stable than it looks. the hotel has a free shuttle service every evening to swargadwar area of puri - you will find lot of shopping / dining options there - you can also book sightseeing trips there. however, there was a slight confusion at the hotel reception whether agoda customers who have booked at half rate can avail the free shuttle - especially because we were the only ones who showed up requesting for this service. in the end they did provide us the free drop off and pick up from swargadwar. the complementary breakfast served from 8am-10am is quite nice with lot of options, good variety menu changed daily - they even served cooked to order omlettes and dosas. service was quite nice - staff was friendly and working with a smile. checkout time is quite early - at 8am - but you can keep your luggage in the reception and enjoy the breakfast before heading out.

The resort is simply the best with helpful staff and good facilities. The resort is clean, food is good with staff who are willing to help you at all times. We're travelling with kids, and they had great fun just being in the pool and playing in the resort playgrounds. The only downside was we could not get the WiFi connected, but then its better you dont have internet during your holidays, which actually forced the kids to carry on with other outdoor activities. The beach is just across the street from the resort and it is comparatively less crowded than the rest of Puri beaches. Again we could not stay in waters longer this time, as the kids got stung by jelly fishes, which is what the water was infested with and also which was quite a surprise to find in Puri. Other than that I can definitely count the Hans CoCo Palms stay to the list of our best holidays!

Leaks in the ceiling from the central a/c system need to be resolved. In such a hot, humid environment such problems cause mold and a stale odour particularly wherever the leaks occur. Scented sprays used to cover up the odour can be overwhelming for anyone with breathing issues, such as asthma. The receptionion desk has no one who can communicate in English, which created a problem for us. However, the food at the hotel, in particular, the complimentary breakfast was exceptional. The staff at the Salt & Pepper restaurant where breakfast is served are equally exceptional: five star food and five star service, second to none. As well, the room cleaning service was outstanding. If the problems with the a/c were resolved, this hotel would rise once again the what must have been a glorious beginning. The architecture of the building is spledid and the rooftop pool is a wonderful place for a refreshing swim. Overall, the Empires Hotel was a great experience in Bhubaneswar, the city of temples; a place everyone who is able to make the trip must visit.

it was our first time to Orissa and yet the hospitality we received were simply amazing. we are a Couple from Malaysia, we had a short trip there and stayed in the presidency hotel . the staff was really friendly.. the check out time of the hotel is at 12noon, when we requested for an hour later check out they simply allowed us with no additional charges... our flight back was at midnight but we were back to the hotel at about 7 pm as my husband was not well.. one of their staff name Rajesh Kumar offered us a complimentary room to rest and fresh up... it was definitely an awesome experience... will definitely go back to their hotel whenever I go to bhuveneswar ... simply superb hospitality staff who understand their customers. To the hotel management hands-off for having such good staff specially Mr. Rajesh Kumar who was at the reception.

The hotel is situated near to Jagannath Temple, Rick ride costs 80Rs from Hotel to the temple. Even though the hotel is not on the beach but it takes just 2 mins ride on battery operated Rick provided by the hotel. What more, Hotel also has a kinda Shack on the beach where you can have tea and cookies. The best part of the hotel is their staff. They are very courteous and helpful. All has smiling face and ready to help. My daughter had a small accident and immediately 4 staff were in our room for helping out. Due to blessing of Lord Jagannath the incident was minor. The hotel also has a nice restaurant, they also serve dishes which are not there in the menu on request.

Rooms in this resort are bigger then most hotels in Puri, Located approximately 10 km from Jagannath temple, this resort is near shore of Bay of Bengal. This resort was damaged in recent fani cyclone however many rooms are now functional and are in good condition balance rooms too shall be ready by peak tourist season. Staff in resort is cordial and professional and will take care of your need to possible best, food spread in breakfast and dinner was limited but tasty, here I feel that improvement is possible. A small shop for beach wear and swim wear inside premises will be a good addition. Shuttle services to Jagannath temple are expensive when compared to local auto which are available outside resort

A good hotel, very close to the railway station. The room was large and comfortable and the staff were helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of Indian food, cereals and fruits. We used the hotel as a base to explore the city as well as take trips to the nearby caves and to Puri. The only lack was that the swimming pool was not really in use (if we asked they would have chlorinated it) and had no chairs in the area so we never used it

I stayed with my family in the hotel. My Parents, Wife and a kid aged 4. We occupied 2 rooms for 2 Nights and found the Hotel to be Good. Would definitely recommend the hotel to everyone looking for a stay in Bubhaneshwar. FOOD: The Food is also very Good in Terms of Taste, Value for Money and Quantity. We had the breakfast included in our stay and the variety and the Menu was good. One Night ordered dinner in the room and the other had in the Kabab Restaurant. Both were Good. The Kabab Restaurant had Live Performance and the singers were good. Staff: The service is good. Staff is cooperative and responds quickly to the requests. ROOMS: Very Spacious and clean. We stayed in Country suites. There was a king size bed, Sofa set, Iron, Fridge, Table, Almirah, Safe, Bathtub in the Bath Room. I had booked for Deluxe Rooms but the hotel gave Free upgrade to the Country Suites Checkin - Checkout: Is smooth. Checkout time is 12 but they are cooperative in it. We checked out at 12.30.

The Hotel is close to the train station, but on the wrong side of the tracks! Thank heavens for Uber! Hotel itself is clean and bland, but the newness is starting to rub off at the edges. We also spent a while trying to find light switches, to discover they were behind the sliding bathroom door! The staff were helpful and polite, and the breakfasts were varied and tasty. Best part for us was the shower which was hot and powerful - just what we needed after a sleeper train!

Although I had booked all the rooms for wedding ceremony, the guests were not treated properly by housekeeping and room service staff. However, the banquet staff especially the F&B Manager,Amulya Sahoo provided excellent service with outstanding quality of food in all the 04 occasions of lunch and dinner banquets . All the guests were highly satisfied with the banquets especially the decoration, arrangements,care and food quality. I highly recommend this hotel for banquets and ceremonies. Mr.Amulya Sahoo has been just outstanding.

While I would rate the hotel 10 on 10, there is a small drawback where I feel the Hotel management can take a small step. Though the authorities have clearly mentioned the several Dos and Don't s for the residents with regard to use of the swimming pool, it was disgusting to see many customers plunging into the pool with their Jockeys, Salwar Kameez, Jeans-T Shirts and various other modes of attire. Obviously no one from the hotel have pointed the pool rules to these inconsiderate and loud customers who were most of the time creating a ruckus in the pool in the name of swimming and having fun. The sight was not only disgusting but the decibel level was also extremely annoying and disturbing. I sincerely hope the hotel management views this aspect seriously. We are going to travel to Puri soon and it is a promise that we will put up there again. Thanks a lot - staff for all that you have done for us.

Charges paid for 2 days were almost 7700 Swimming Pool - Water was not clean AC was not working for 1st night and when complained no one was bothered as it was a daily routine for them. The only good thing is sea view however, same is with 100's of hotel in Puri. Have forgot few clothes when changed the room due to non functioning of AC however, It was like I forgot then no reporting module is from House keeping. I lost those clothes came to my mind after 2 days but I have left the place and cannot go to hotel back for clothes at least. They have a very good sea view from a passage outside restaurant where they have table and chair as well however, they will not allow you to have food there, which I found strange.

I went to Puri jaganath temple and stayed in Hotel Jeevan Sandhya for 2 days. It Just opposite to beach. It was around 5 km away from main beach. So not crowded. Best place to walk around night time and early morning. The Manager Sadasivam was very helpful. He arranged cab for Konark trip. He also asked his staff to drop through his scooter when I went to Bengali market. Good view of sea from room. only -ve is restaurant staff not responding properly when we ordered food. Over all value for money and good location to take rest.

Horrible experience. Useless hotel. Very bad location (far from the city centre). Front desk staff behaviour is very rude and impolite. Especially Mr Kashi Nath Mohanty and Mr Ajay Patra behaved badly with us. Inspite of confirmation from Agoda, they told us that our booking is not valid and that we may have to pay extra money. Check out time of 8 AM is not acceptable. I would never recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.
