We are still wondering why it is not called MOTEL, and why it has got 3 stars. The room is very noisy, the receptionist can't speak english at all, and can't give any advice you need, the position is awful, outside from la Rochelle. Booked and prepaid for 3 nights, as location - close to La Rochelle, Airport and Isle de Re' seemed good. Not so good was continuous traffic noise from motorway, and scruffy rooms. Left after ONE night.

This is a very nice hotel that I highly recommend. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the room was very nice with a wonderful bathroom and the breakfast was good. It is not far to walk to the center of Rochelle and it’s located in a quiet area.

Vert good. Only the breakfast with the minimum but cheap. (5 euros) the toaster is very dangerous because no protection . I would change the place of it: upstair where the Bred is : no Risk of fire

Our first visit to La Rochelle, we truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We were impressed with the warm welcome and hospitality. Great location, nice staff, very confortable and modern room and bed. Only minor bother is we were asked to pay extra for the parking, 15 euro per night, but still happy to have had a parking in the hotel 😊

We had a wonderful stay here for a friend's wedding weekend. What a lovely hotel! The courtyard gardens are even more beautiful than I thought they would be and the room was lovely. Very clean, pretty and peaceful. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast was delicious and it was a really romantic place to be. We will be back! Thank you.

Great to book in after late show, 24 hr check in. Staff friendly, efficient, helpful. Rooms compact but well designed. Beds comfortable. This is a great hotel. We travelled with 2 dogs from Southern Spain to UK. It’s location is brilliant with loads of shops and restaurants in the vicinity. Just off the motorway.

What a lovely surprise this hotel was. It was very modern and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant and the food was beautiful. Wide range of choice and all beautifully presented. I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again and the price was extremely cheap. You can park right outside the hotel room door- useful if you need to unload baggage. There were no bathroom lights in our room. The tv wake up call went on loudly at 05.30 am. I mentioned this to the staff in the morning. Their reaction: 'Oh yes, this happens automatically every morning'. I suggested people book into a hotel to sleep and not to be woken up at 05.30. ...

Great place to relax, easy walking distance to the market, have 2 swimming pools and a great steam room.

last minute booking of the hotel. Room was unexpectedly huge for all 3 of us. staff was very helpful as i requested on taxi to airport and requested how to rent wheelchair as my mom accidentally has sprain her ankle during our vacation. would definitely come back in future.

Nice modern, clean hotel near the old quarter of La Rochelle and the train station. Breakfast tends to be very busy so come before 9:30 am to guarantee to get a table. Underground Parking has limited space, so please ensure to book before arriving at the hotel to avoid disappointment. Overall great hotel.

Brit Hotels are not Motels they are Motorists Hotels with well designed rooms , Good locations and Individually owned and run. They also normally have good restuarants but this one closed on Sundays! Easy accessible hotel with clean rooms, a small pool, nice atmosphere and very nice people who manage the place. Nice beds.

Not special but good hotel, rooms getting a bit older, menu of the restaurants is quite limited and everywhere the same. Breakfast is good. Swimming pool is too small. End result: just good, not brilliant.

Couldn’t have asked for more from St Nicholas hotel during our short weekend trip to La Rochelle. The staff are helpful and friendly and even continued to help us when we returned to the city later in the week. Thank you to the full team for a fabulous stay and excellent holiday experience!

We booked two rooms to spend one night. It was a cold spring season when we were there. There is an interesting walking trail not far from the hotel . The hotel was clean and the staff at the reception was nice and accommodating. Breakfast was also good. I definitely recommend.

A good overnight stop. Good value compared to many French hotels. Don't expect the world, just a small room with clean comfortable bed and a small functional shower and toilet. They have microwave downstairs so you can eat cheap Lidl ready meals and avoid the overpriced restaurants nearby. Good WiFi I even had a view over the fields this time.

Was a wonderful stay. The staff were efficient, friendly & very helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed but the staff provided us with many alternatives in La Rochelle. Breakfast was superior to many places we have stayed. Thoroughly recommended this Hotel.

The automated check in is useful if arriving out of hours (which in France is all the time) beds are large and comfortable and parking is no issue.
