Convenient and a nice place”
This hotel was a great deal for a suite. Lots of space, close to Universal shuttle bus and helpful staff. My phone charger broke and they lent me one. Location is close to the Universal shuttle bus but there is only a few places to eat near by. There are a few abandoned buildings and homeless people however we are from NYC so that didn’t phase us. The room was a nice size and the beds were comfortable. Walking around in white socks we realized the floor was dirty so when we checked out we let them know and they immediately got on the radio to let the maids know. However, the rest of the room was clean.

We walked to USH each day in minutes; super convenient. The room was large and comfortable and clean. Our plumbing clogged the first night and it was fixed in less than an hour after we told the front desk. AC worked great and kept the room very cool, but extremely noisy. Shower fixtures weird and leaky but did the job in the end. Could not reach the TP roll without throwing our our backs, ha ha, so had to grab paper first, THEN sit. View of retaining wall and landscaping is actually not bad. Curtains didn't work, but it wasn't a big deal. All staff we interacted with was really great. Only complaint is: for just an ok hotel- holy cow the price!!!

Family Vacation Let Down”
We booked a King Suite to accommodate myself and two children, ages 12 & 15. This comes with a King bed and a pull out couch, though the room did not look like the picture. The hotel placed a card in the room saying that they were making renovations and that they apologized for the room not matching the images on the sites (we saw no evidence of anyone working on renovating anything while we were there). The "pull out couch" would be for the 15 year old while the 12 year old and myself shared the bed. The bed was okay in comfort. The pull out couch was all springs in the mattress, very uncomfortable, so my 15 year old slept on the couch, which was too short for him. Sleeping conditions: not good. As far as other features in the room, nothing was plugged in (including the alarm clock) so we had to plug everything in ourselves, except half the outlets did not work. We found an extension cord behind the bed that had both bedlamps plugged into it. Neither bed lamp, though it did have a place to plug in a block, held the blocks, as they just fell out, so charging our devices was a problem. The refrigerator was very nice looking, and the TV worked, but there was no guide or guide channel and it was stationary, so we could not watch anything together unless we all sat on the bed. The shower has an awesome feature where it sprays from a handle or pours down from overhead, or you can adjust it to do both. We could not get the overhead one to shut off completely, so not getting your hair wet was difficult. The only thing stocked in the shower was body wash; no shampoo or conditioner. I had already asked for assistance from the front desk to get a blanket, sheet, and pillow for the pull out bed, for which the attendant had to leave her post and come to my room to deliver it, meaning there was no one at the front counter to help incoming customers. They have a self-service snack & essentials room which made it easy for me to purchase a ($7) water, but the bar closed by 9:00 pm, so I never had a chance to check that out and my kids were not able to use the pool, since it also closed by 9:00. Since we were there to vacation, we did not get back to our rooms until 9:00, so we did not get the chance to take advantage of any additional amenities in the facility, which was a bummer. Overall, there are a few other hotels in the area that do not charge as much that offer a more welcoming experience. I would not recommend staying here unless you are desperate for accommodations and have exhausted all other options.

Our favourite Universal City stay”
Stayed here for two nights to visit Universal Studios and we loved it. It’s an easy 5min walk from the free shuttle to the park, and there’s an incredible taco spot just a block away. We loved that they had free pink lemonades in the lobby to keep us fresh on our walks. There’s a self-check out mini store on the first floor, a liquors store/bodega nearby, and pharmacies 8min away if you need to buy any basic items. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. Only issue we had is that they may have a bit of a mosquito issue because we woke up with our legs covered in bites, and we had to unplug the fridge because it was way too loud. But for the location and price, it’s still worth it.

Rooms are a good size ”
I stayed in a 2 queen suite and the room was very spacious. Pros: There was a separate kitchen area with a love seat couch, microwave, sink and mini fridge with freezer. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The hotel is less than a 10 min walk to the shuttle stop to the Universal Studios park (tip, the park is up a hill so definitely recommend taking the shuttle vs walking up hill. Shuttle takes appx 7 mins to get from the stop to the drop off area by city walk. Shuttle stop is also directly outside of the B line Metro Universal City/Studio stop. TCL Chinese theater/Walk of Fame is only 2 stops via this metro B line. Cons: Hotel definitely needs some repairs. Some of the window blinds were broken, the drain in the shower was very slow, walls, doors and furniture had lots of dents and scuff marks. Although the walk to the shuttle for Universal Studio is less than a 10 min walk you have to pass under an overpass bridge which is very dirt and a bit scary late night with children.
