"Beautiful castle on the east coast of Taiwan. Truly a hot spring oasis with multiple pools, massive indoor and outdoor facilities and a breakfast and dinner buffet to salivate over. Dinner included a sushi selection with a chef slicing off fresh sashimi off of massive tunas and an amazing spread of literally every cuisine. Amazon touches in the room and around, including an Italian like piazza with street vendors. What an amazing reprieve from days of cycling!"

"i chose the pacific ocean view room. it's very spacious! the hotel is located near the top of the mountain range (that runs across taiwan) and it's so huge that it can be seen from hualien airport. accessibility is alright in the daytime because there's a shuttle bus that goes to specific parts of hualien. but the last bus leaves hualien train station at 7pm, so it's troublesome when i wanted to go to the night market. the hotel offers shuttle bus pick up from hualien train station. give the hotel a call a few days before your departure to leave your particulars and check the price - it may or may not be free. the hotel's breakfast buffet is delicious! there's a wide array of food and you can enjoy a brilliant view of the ocean and mountains as you eat :) "

"We absolutely love this place! we had a 2storey family room. Tudor is very new and the staff are very helpful. High tea in the beautiful lobby was relaxing as there was hardly anyone around when we were there. Breakfast at Stuart Villa was full house, but still not really crowded. We love the feel of being near the sea. The down side is that the hotel is located very far from the city. You will need abt 30min by cab to get to hualien city. so we ordered dinner in from a local eatery (menu was provided by the hotel) and ate at the lobby area. Food was decent. After checking out, we went to Happy Farm, and cycling around Liyu Lake, before heading to train station back to taipei."

"The hotel is in a great place, you can go anywhere from there, near the station (3 minutes walk) and the car hiring company (1 minutes walk). The staff there is so so nice that I find no words to speak ill of them. Even though 1 of the receptionist's english was not good, she tried to explain and answer me all of what I am curious. There was one staff in the afternoon, when being asked about the transportation to some tourist spots, she helped find the best route for me, gave me the best advice how to go there in the most careful way. The food in the hotel is so delicious and not similar to all other places I have ever stayed in Taiwan. The facilities were in great facilities that I want to stay there longer and made Hualien the most most wonderful places in Taiwan for my trip."

"Being a resort hotel, it has many activities in addition to a great rooftop pool, hot tubs and a tennis court. I saw there were activities for kids and a spa for the adults. In the evening there was an aboriginal performance and a movie. My room was a good size with a nice view of the river. Like most Taiwan hotels there are different room sizes. When you book just specify what you want. The mini-fridge had a couple of free items in it including a facial mask and there were some snacks. Nice little details. The room is somewhat dated, but still shows nice. I had wished the bathroom would have contained some marble from the area, but instead had a pinkish color tile. I arrived early and my room was not ready so they took my bag. It would have been nice to wait in a lounge and have a drink, but I did not find one. So I got my Taiwan beer at the stall across the parking lot then climbed to the Tianfeng pagoda and found some other trails (uphill). I left reception my email and they emailed me when my room was ready. I purchased the “Western” dinner package which was a very abundant buffet consisting of many stations which I thought was reasonable for NT$880 including service fee. There is a Chinese dinner available which looks to be off a menu. Breakfast was also a buffet with many stations. How to get there? If you don’t have a car, there are many other ways to get there. The Hotel has a shuttle (fee) from Hualien. Call first to make reservations. I took a train down from Yilan to the Xincheng station and then a local bus to Tianxiang. The Taiwan Tourist shuttle bus also goes to Tianxiang from the Xincheng station. "
