"This is my second time staying in Light Hostel Chiayi, the female dorm Good: - Location: less than 5-min walk to Chiayi train station, 5-10 min walk to night market for street food - Nicely decorated and clean dorms: Beds are comfy and clean. The toilet is inside the dorm. Wifi was fast. Free breakfast available. The common area and overall the entire hostel is decorated with style. Bad: - I experienced the same problem as when I came about two years ago. The air con in room was very weak and it felt like quite stuffy and a bit too warm at night. - The dorm room was quite small, compared to others I have been to around Taiwan. "

"The young lady is so kind to allow for early check-in and I'm totally saved from the hassle with all my big luggages. She also provide good recommendation on my trip arrangement to Alishan and Chiayi. Have free watching matching. I was assigned to a 2 bed- dorm with arge locker, small shared table with large glass. The decoration is great, and very near to night market and around 800m to Chiayi train station - Central point for Bus to Alishan or train to most of attraction of Taiwan. "

"The couple who owned Lawa House are so nice and helpful. They went out of the way to show me where to eat and how to get the bus to Alishan mountain. Even lent me an umbrella in case it rained! The accommodation was good for what you paid for. I booked an extra night (slightly cheaper if you paid in cash) as Chiayi is a pretty nice and laid back place to stay after cyclying my way down from the busy central areas. "
